Hey everyone

7 month and 10 days waiting and still no reply!! I made an official complaint on the 13th of January and I received a reply yesterday via email, here it is:

3 February 2015

Dear Mr xxxxxxxx

Thank you for your correspondence of 13 January about your application for British citizenship, submitted on 17 June 2014.

I am sorry that it is taking longer than we would wish for your application to be processed and that you feel our service did not meet your expectations on this occasion.

Our service standard is that we will complete 100% of cases within six months. Where further information is required the case may take longer to decide. Further information is available on the following link:
http://www.gov.uk/government/organisati ... r-services

It is advised that in fairness to all, applications are considered broadly in order of receipt. It is only in the most exceptional circumstances that applications are considered out of turn. I am unable to comment on the applications that other applicants have made and it would be inappropriate to do so.

Prior to making a decision on British citizenship we undertake various checks and we are currently undertaking further checks to establish if all the requirements for citizenship are met in your case.

We will endeavour to finalise your application at the earliest opportunity, and will write to you again as soon as the necessary checks are complete.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in deciding your application.

We are grateful for the comments received in your correspondence and are committed to treating all complaints seriously and improving the service we deliver. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Friends no good news so far it seems my file is getting dust on, I did what i can but i am helpless. that is really rude, i sent emails to my MP 4 times in two months no reply, email and wrote to complaint team last month on 15th January no reply sent three letter to caseworker no reply, today i rang up and a lady on the phone replied that, wait two to four weeks caseworkers will send progress letter to everyone who is waiting more than six months.

I asked what kind of letter it could be she said its not decision letter it will contains the progress of application and i believe it will be same generic reply as everyone is getting from complaint team, MPs and case working team, that its under consideration.

I just went back to the Feb and March application timeline oh my God people are still waiting for their reply how long it gonna take no one can say. People who is getting their approval says be patience your approval is coming or on its way, trust me these 8 months i will never forget in my life does not matter if my application will approve or not.

Allah helps us, after this i will never contact my MP, complaint team or caseworker let them milk the file.

The question is how can you know the name of your caseworker in order to send him/her a letter? They letters sent to applicants are usually signed by customer service officer or something like coordination team chief!

Hello all,

I have been following your posts for some time but as my story was similar to most of yours I decided to share my experience just now as I received my approval today. I sent my application by post on June 22-nd and received my approval letter today which means that I have waited for 7 months and a half. I have contacted HO multiple times by phone receiving same standard answers that my application is in progress and they don't need any additional documents. In December just before Christmas (on the 23-rd of December) I have sent letter to the same address I sent my application asking for any information but didn't receive any answer. I called them in January and I was told that I was going to receive a letter very soon and finally I received it today. Thank you for your posts and good luck to everyone :D .

Eligibility criteria: 5 Years EU Nationality
Language criteria met (Life in the UK test & Esol L3):
Current nationality: EU Nationality
Council name if NCS used: sent application by post
Date of application: 22/06/2014
Payment method: Visa debit
Date of receipt by UKBA: 24/06/2014
Date of acknowledgment: 30/06/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 30/06/2014
Date approval received: 05/02/2015( date on the letter 02/02/2015)
Date of ceremony:Waiting.....

Friends see what i got from complaint Team its same generic reply

Thank you for your correspondence of 16 January about your application for British citizenship, submitted on 30 June 2014.
I am sorry that you feel our service did not meet your expectations on this occasion and that you did not receive a response to your letter we received on 20 January.
I am sorry that it is taking longer than we would wish for your application to be processed. As you may be aware, our service standard is that we will complete 100% of workable and straightforward cases within six months. The definition of a workable case, and what we expect from our customers, is available on our website at: http://www.gov.uk/government/organisati ... about-our- services. Where further information is required, the case will not be classed as workable, and may take longer to decide.
Prior to making a decision on British citizenship, we undertake various checks. Following our assessment of your case, it appears your application will not be processed within the six month target.
Following recent clarification of the Nationality rules greater levels of scrutiny will be applied to certain applications. This will be dependent on certain indicators within their immigration history that pre-date the application for British citizenship and this is the case with your application.
We will endeavour to make a decision on your application within the next three to six months, but we will write to you again if this is not possible. Please note we will contact you with further updates. We advise that you do not need to contact us again unless your circumstances change significantly.

Please do not contact the UKVI Contact Centre regarding the progress of your case as they will not be able to provide any further information. This also applies to any family members whose applications for citizenship were submitted at the same time.
Please accept my apologies for the delay in deciding your application.
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may wish to seek a review in writing within one month from the date on this letter to the following address:
UKV&I Complaints Allocation Hub Lunar House Wellesley Road Croydon CR9 2BY
email: complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
We are grateful for the comments received in your correspondence and are committed to treating all complaints seriously and improving the service we deliver. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely

I have been a silent observer on this website since I applied for my British citizenship since 17th of June... I am married to a british, I didn't have to wait for a year to apply for citizenship while I have my Indefinite leave to remain as I have been here since 2008... I got my approval yesterday the 5th of feb 2015, Letter dated the 30 of Jan 2015.... I thank almighty God that the wait is over, I pray for people that is still waiting to get their approval soon....
