Received the outcome of the reconsideration today. Bad news:-( Apparently the original refusal stands. My mother-in-law's EEA2 application was refused as well. Appeal allowed for both. Incredibly frustrating!

Outrageous. But nevertheless there is a right of appeal which is good. I cant see the reason for your husband's refusal, although with her mothers application, dependancy is a usual reason for refusal.

Which you all the best though.

I am delighted to say that my husband finally received his permanent residence today :-)

The timeline is as follows:

28/08/2012 - EEA4 Application

21/12/2012 - 1st Refusal

04/02/2013 - 2nd Refusal (following request for reconsideration

20/06/2013 - Appeal (withdrawn by HOPO on the day)

28/06/2013 - Judicial Review warning letter sent by our solicitor

21/07/2013 - Letter from UKBA acknowledging receipt of solicitor's letter and advising that new decision would be reached in 2-4 weeks.

28/08/2013 - 2nd letter from solicitor to UKBA

12/09/2013 - permanent residence document received

However, UKBA have lost my husband's passport. But after all that we've been through in the past 13 months, this seems like a trivial matter :-)
