I have applied on 5 December at VFS Ahmedabad.
My time line
Applied for EC - 05/12/04
Reached Mumbai British high commission - 06/12
SMS Status - fwd to high commission
Email status - Dear Sir

This is with regards to your email below.

We are making enquiries into your application. I am sorry but I am unable to give you any indication of how long this will take.
Yours faithfully

its waiting and waiting and waiting....because no clue on integra verification.
What are chances of personal interview at high commission?

Lets wait & ntg else we can do now, cos of ths there is no holiday mood too...if it comes b4 new yr...i wil rock ths yr with a bang..

i din get any reply for my emails, i sent 2 already....i am sending to Chennai.Visaenquiry@fco.gov.uk...but no replies on it..

I am so badly upset now like whether there is some issue on my EC

Those who have already got the EC stamped, please let me know as to how you knew that your EC is stamped. Whether you get a call from VFS or a mail?

guys,

jus nw checked the vfs website, they are closed tmrw. these ppl are really having a fun at our woes...why the hel thy shd close 10 times in same month.??

so if we don get any updates today, we have to wait till next week 28 dec..why cos i had seen the holiday list says 24 & 27 is tentative & 25 & 26 is confirmed. i gues they wil close for sure till 27 as one of my collegue booked a date of WP visa submision and they gave him 27th leaving all the days in between.

What about BHC? When are they closed?

They are working on 31st ,since holiday list don mention this date. Also for 1st jan 2008 it will not working. this i picked by applying the logic of 1st jan 2007 where they dint work..so too many leaves to them for no real cause.

thanks & i too had some problem in funds..but i had managed to take a Personal loan and then i had submitted. i have seen many applying with personal loan and getting thru with EC..you can try this..

I have shouwn about 3 lakhs in my account and 2 lakhs in wife's account. I have submitted a letter of sponsorship for her in this regard.

I have also attached a letter of accomodation sponsorship from a friend. So the funds requirements will be lower as I won't be expected to pay the hotel bills/rent. But then all these are assumptions that I am betting on.

Will update the outcome

Is there any other means to know the progress, apart from MESSAGING

Hi Dev,

You must have got a receipt from VFS when you applied for EC.

On that you will get your reference number. Use that and the DOB to get instant status.

IT DOESNT HAVE ANY APPLICATION REF NUMBER

Hi Kranthi,

The payment receipt in my case has a reference number field like PNAC/XXXX/XXXXXX/X.

Are you sure theres no reference number on your receipt?

My timelines:

Applied at Mumbai VFS: 19th December
Integra call: Monday, 27th December

BHC called my employer today. The representative said that she is calling from BHC (not Integra Screen). Is this same as Integra check or should I expect another call?

I too have problem in checking status VFS website.

I had payment receipt which had some number like BANG/071129/00XXX
but this throws 'Invalid search' error.

Was the status from website useful than SMS service ? Otherwise i am not interested to put effort in knowing ref number now

More so mine is 15th Working day .
Called BDHC,

and surprise today they refused to tell status and gave me VFS contact No ..

Sent Email to BDHC no response.
SMS Service to 57333 --No Reply yet.
VFS Number is every busy

This EC is becoming a nightmare guys...

Am on a nervous wreck. Applied on 23rd Nov from Chennai , more than a month now, no news!! Day 18!!

I had applied for EC at VFS , New Delhi.I have got a offer letter from UK company and I need to travel on 7th january to join.I do not know whether i will be granted EC till then but Integra call came at my current and previous employer on monday.

I visited the british high commission to enquire about urgent treatment but they refused.Kindly let me know if i can enquire about my application from BHC because status said "Your visa application has been forwarded to the British High Commission "

Don wrry guys i hope we all are going to get some reply within ths weekend since most of them who applied in late november hadnt got any decision till now.

pavankeerthi - the info in website is the same "application received on 03 dec" as that of SMS..but onething is free can be checked any no of times

..i doubt hw often it gets updated..Beter stay wit SMS and send SMS by everyday 5 PM as they told me the courier will be sent before 5 PM..so if there is any status change you can get it..
