Hi All,

Are any of you renewing outside Dublin, or you are all living in Dublin and renewing online or in Burgh Quay?
I'm just wondering how long renewals might be taking for anyone doing it in their local Garda Station outside Dublin.
I think the way it works outside Dublin is the immigration officer makes the decision then and there at the appointment as you bring all your documents with you and then they just send off for the card and it arrives 2 weeks later (pre covid). But I could be wrong!

I'm just wondering are these renewals subject to the same delay as the Dublin ones which seem to be taking around 10 weeks?
We have a trip booked next year and will be gone for almost 4 weeks. Husband's IRP expires 4 weeks after we return.
It says online though for outside Dublin: "Make an appointment with your local registration office at least six weeks before your IRP card is due to expire".

We wouldn't be able to do this unless we made the appointment 6 weeks before our trip... which would end up being 4 months earlier than its due to expire!
