Trying to contact Deputy High Commission on phone but phone is always busy. Even emailed them but no reply yet.

I belong to the same category. Have come down to chennai from UK to apply for Tier 1(currently student dependent). Do not qualify under new rules (no master's degree).

Applied - 26th March 09
VFS-Chennai
Status - Application forwarded to BHC

Lets all hope for the best.... n get back to work soon...

Hi All,

Yesterday evening my application status changed from 'Your visa application has been forwarded to the British High Commission' to 'Your passport is ready for collection: please visit the uk visa application center where you submitted your visa application'.

However it not mentioned on the online status whether my visa is accepted or rejected. Just want to know any one has such experiences and what would be the actual result - acepted or rejected.

In my case, I've confirmed with my employers and no verification done to any of my employers.

Sometimes they verify and sometimes they don't.

I have applied on 20th March at VFS bangalore. The status still shows "Documents forwarded to BHC". Eagerly waiting for some good news.

Dont want to demoralize eveyone but still worth sharing I think. We are still waiting with same status message and this is the 4th week that has started, had applied on 16th March from Hyderabad for a dependent's Visa for Tier 1.

Based on estimates and words from VFS staff that max 12 working days it takes now, we had planned for a journey on 8th April.

A lesson learnt for us which we would like to share with all. Please plan properly so as to have ample time for the Visa process.
Hope things start sorting out soon.

I got my visa Today. Thanks to all

My employer didnt get any verification calls. If you provide all supporting docs and make them feel you are genuine, they wont verify the docs.

I have applied on 26th of March from VFS Bangalore and still waiting for the good news. I have even visited the bank and still there were no enquiries done.

When does the actual status change? After the docs are sent to the courier or after the decision is made.
Appl fwded to BHC-- could this mean anything from " a decision is made/ will be made/sent to the courier"?

Hi, Can any one upate on time taken for visa processing, if applied from Mumbai (south) after 20th march under Tier1 General Visa.

I have applied on 25th march and still the status is 'application sent to BHC', and I need to get my passsport ASAP to go out f India on project work.

Please help, if any one has an idea of how can contact BHC, Mumbai for faster processing or processing termination to get my PP back in any case.
