in a nutshell...

unrestricted COS is ALMOST free COS...

all you/your employer need to do is find a job title/salary from code of practice and assign it to you.

if the job is in shortage, no RLMT required

if you have been working on a psw for 6 months, no RLMT required

in all other cases RLMT must be conducted before COS can be assigned.

restricted cos is pretty much how system works right now. like monthly panel meetings etc etc

hope this helps

your COS, issued before 6th april, will almost certainly be "invalid" after 6th april because the job title and salary requirement would have been changd as there will be new code of practice

so, apply as soon as possible, that is if you can! last panel was met at the start of March and no panel is meeting on 1st april as far as im aware
Thanks arsenal....but actually comparing the two COPs, there is no change in the job title or in the salary requirements...even the RLMT requirements are the same....the only change is that it is NQF level 4 instead of 3 now.....how does that change things?

I'm going to apply next week anyway, when they send me the CoS docs, but as you know from the other thread, I'm really scared about the whole academic reference issue.

in section M, of code of practice, there are certain jobs with salary of 23000. but its only for 'new graduates'.

Does anyone know how UKBA is defining the term 'new graduate'?

cheers

no rlmt required for those switching from psw to tier 2 provided they have been working for same employer for 6 months

Ok I checked.. Let me get this clear,

I'm on 26K and I'm a Web application developer working for the company over an year.

Switching from psw to TIER2 General

My SOC Code is 2132 Software Professional = Skilled
My Job is Web Developer - Req Salary = 26000

My company registration is underway. So if my company gets registered without any problem we can request a COS. We will be given a unrestricted COS ?

Then I make the application ?

Am I right or after months of confusion is there is something seriously wrong with me ? lol

Thanks for your help mate.
