has anyone who applied on or after September 12th managed to book an appointment? I am checking few times a day but cannot see any availability yet...
Submitted application on 12/09/2020.
Submitted documents on 14/09/2020.

Awaiting email for biometric invite.

Guess I am in the same boat as you are, timeline-wise.

May I know your timelines, @gabidzas?

Thanks.
submitted application and paid on September 15th, uploaded all the documents through UKVCAS and submitted to UKVI on 16th, delay notice received on 18th :(

A quick question. After UKVI application and UKVCAS documents submission, does UKVI see the documents? Or only after biometric submission, everything will be forwarded and viewable by UKVI?
Once you submit your documents via UKVCAS even before biometrics, they will be submitted to UKVI right away.
Does that mean in theory HO can have decisions on hold already for some applicants? If so, the lockdown shouldn’t affect much as everything is on line, unless for information security reason, CW are only allowed to process applications physically in office. Nothing major, just curious about how they work.

And good luck with your day at Lansdowne! Your advice and information is really appreciated on this forum!

Thank you for your well wishes.

Yes I believe the potential new restrictions will not impact majority of the applicants who will be eligible for IDV app. IDV app is already functional and will carry on.

The UKVCAS appointments may see low availability/paid only appointments though.

As previously stated, I do not see any advantage to go for UKVCAS appointment over IDV app for NEW applicants anyways (its your choice though).

New applicants who are eligible for IDV app, its best to stay home and submit via IDV app.

Most likely, once you submit documents to UKVI even before biometrics, your processing will start. So that is the best approach to follow.

Hi all. Due to unforeseen circumstances I missed my train and now will be 15 minutes late for my appointment. I DM’d UKVCAS and they cannot say if I will be let in.
Anyone know what usually happens if an applicant is late?
Thanks
Thank you to everyone who responded to my message. I was late but managed to give my biometrics. A few notes Incase they help anyone:

Appointment was in Leeds: No 2 Wellington Place.

I reached at 5:28, the guy who took my biometrics said he had almost left a few minutes ago but a colleague had convinced him to stay.
The center closes at 5pm. So if you have an out of hours appointment being late is more risky :|
Although I reached ‘around’ the place at 5:05 it took me ages to find the correct section of the complex. So anyone who is not familiar with the center maybe allow extra time for that. For reference: there is a Wellington place 1,2,3,4 and 5. I literally walked around in circle for ages.
The appointment took me 40 minutes. It took A LOT of tries to get an acceptable scan of my fingerprints. The hand sanitizer there literally formed a layer over my fingers. The guy kept saying he will just submit but I said I would rather we keep redoing it until they were right. He also told me that previously someone had submitted their biometrics but they were not acceptable :? A bit worrying.

I think that’s it. Hopefully this helps someone!

@user5

Glad you made it!
Sometimes all finger prints do not match due to dry skin, burns, cuts etc. As long as 8/10 matches your fine. Nothing to worry.

Anyone who has access to the appointments, check IDV app access also. Then you can decide which route you want to go.

Thanks Cullinan but I think there is still nothing. Or is it that I will definitely be getting an email first before I can book? I applied on 17th.
