Hi guys, just want to share with everyone my timeliness for EEA2: sent application 05/01/2016
COA recieve d 10/02/2016
Approval letter recieve d and documents returned: 31/05/2016
RC should arrive next week according to the letter.

It is fairly fast than I expected, I am very happy. Now i do have a question about drivers licence :is it mandatory to hire an instructor? I already know how to drive automatic cars and is ready to purchase one. I do not feel necessary to pay the money to hire someone teach me something I already know. Does anyone has similar experience? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And good luck on y'all applications as well.

Hi guys,

Same here, still waiting.

I'm planning my budget for the next month and perhaps someone can help me out.

I've got a CoA with no working rights, can I use the decision letter, if positive, as proof of right to work, or do I need to wait for the residence card?

The 10 working days to receive the RC after receiving the decision letter is included in the 6 months or is it additional?

Fingers crossed to everyone!

I believe the decision should be an enough proof of your employment eligibility, but I bet it depends on the employer,
Good luck to all of us

Regards,

Hi dear, sure, I'm glad to help. My partner is from Spain. I am from China who reside in United States. We got married in 2014 in the States then moved to UK in November 2015. I applied for EEA2 just simply following the guidelines on home office' s website including preparing the required document
s. We provided marriage certificate both new Spanish and English. Family book, 2 passports, evidence of living together from 6 different source. Pictures and Facebook chat history. A cover letter wrote by me. And the application form. Sent in the application 5th of January, COA recieve d 10th of February. Recieve d passport and document back 31st of may 2016, recieve d BPR ID card today , the card is valid for 5 years.

I am surprised it came in a card format, I thought it would be like a visa stamp on your passport. But it is a card like a normal ID card. If anyone knows Wether this is the new format of EEA2?

Hope my story helps for those of you who are still waiting!

Hi guys, just checked on home office website that they start to issue residence card in biometric format which is what I recieve d as a EEA2 applicant. This new format of RC is different than BRP because BRP is conditional.

If anyone knows any news regarding to this matter please share!

Thanks

Hi Fiona,

I'm still ansius waiting lol. Yes it is a new residence card since April last year when they changed the forms. You need to apply for a provisional license and then take lessons and do theorical and practical test.

I'm waiting for my card to apply for a licence. You can drive with a foreign licence just for a year since you got here

Hi fiona49cf,

Do you have a driving licence for automated car already? If you do I guess you got your licence either in China or US. I think you cannot localise a China/US driving licence to a UK one but as long as you are a resident in the UK you should be able to drive with your international licence for one year. Then you need to get a local licence. I bet one year of practice here should be better than any instructors led classes.

Check this link here, hope this help:

Hi guys,

I have a question...I have just applied for my passport back as I want to travel for a short holiday. I know receiving RC will long time anyway - so i might also take it easy and carry on with my life :) As I am non EU and unmarried partner I need a Schengen visa to travel to Europe. Do you think it is ok to apply for a tourist Schengen visa while my application is still with Home Office? Do you think it can cause any problem to my application? I still have valid UK Tier 4 visa and it is not expiring until August 2017

Hi

Schenhen countries wont issue a visa if you dont have a status in your residing country. I.e. you have to submit your passport and UK visa/RC (copy) with the application

Hi Mard

We are same sex couple as well. We got married in Oct 2015 after one yr of our relatioship. When we went to registry office to give the notice, the registrar has explained my case will be refered to HO as i didnt have a Permanent residency in the UK.

But luckily HO decision was not to investigate. I submitted my RC application in Dec
I was a bit worried we did not have much photograph or Evidence of my Partners Self employment as he was new to self emplymnt.

but luckily, everything turn good at the end. Such a relief :D :D

We are a gay couple married since 2014, but living together since 2012. I've got Family Permit but already expired. My husband and I are working since June permanent full time jobs.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are doing good. I did submit my EEA application form in September 2015. I have done my biometric and after that received my COA. Still waiting for RC.

I just found this forum and seems more informative people and really useful.

However can someone please provide HO contact number and also the mail id to Enquire about RC.

I need to Enquire about the status by phone or by mail because my wife is expecting to deliver a baby in a week time and urgently need the passport and status of my application.

Please help me with phone number and mail id so that I can reach them directly.

Please help me

I think calling them is the best option. Dont spend time with e-mails. When you call, there is an option if you submitted documents more than 6 months ago, choose it.
