Hi All,
7 Months today and I have got a reply from my MP. He received a letter from HO regarding my application and attached the copy for me with the reason for delay: " We were instructed to place cases on hold during the Independent Chief Inspector's (ICI) report. The Independent Chief Inspector's report of 11 December 2014 highlighted that some individuals had not been subjects to sufficient scrutiny in relation to their immigration history. We have now revised our guidance and are looking at those cases in detail to assess the impact these changes will have on the outcome of the application for British Citizenship. Due to additional checks required these cases will take a little longer to consider..."
I think this is another standard response...my application met the deadline just about the time when the report came out so it was delayed anyway and also I still believe that it is a straight forward application.

Good luck everyone!

So the waiting game still continues then.
Can I ask you how long did they take to respond back ?

Application Timeline
Eligibility criteria: Tier 1 General 5 yr + 18 Months ILR
Proof of English Language: UK Masters + Points Based Calculator printout + Life in the UK certificate (+Docs used to prove English knowledge in my initial Tier 1 application = Outside UK Degree +letter from university to confirm Degree was taught in English +NARIC UK Standard comparable confirmation letter).
Method of application: Postal (Special Delivery)
Date Posted: 10 Dec 2014
Date of receipt by UKBA: 11 Dec 2014 (i.e. Royal Mail Tracked confirmation of receipt).
Payment Method: Visa Card
Date of debit of fees: 17 Dec 2014 (i.e. £906 Deducted)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 05 Jan 2015
Date of receipt of approval: 14 Jan 2015 (Dated 12 Jan 2015)
Date of Ceremony: Waiting for the invitation letter

Update:
Received letter with application form from HO on 05 Jan 2015 stating that, the 5 years eligibility criteria is calculated back from the day the application is received (i.e. 11 Dec 2014 to 11 Dec 2009) so the fact that I have stayed continuously in this country for 10 years is irrelevant. I was out of the country on 11 Dec 2009 and returned on 05 Jan 2010 so I have to re-sign my application form and submit after 05 Jan 2015 (before 02 Feb 2015) which I have done. Whew!!! I never knew that was the case though.
