Hi Antony,

Thanks for your reply!
One more query -
My kid's birth certificate is in Hindi. Can you let me know the procedure to get a Translation, Notarization, certified list of Translators, Notary Public etc?

Its better to get translated from a certified Translator. Check with the BHC in India and then take it forward.

All the best!

Visa Secured

Post by hemal_p » Mon Jul 23, 2007 12:14 pm

Hi All,

I would like to thank everyone who have helped me with my queries. I would like to inform that I've secured my HSMP visa for 2 years starting 15/8/07.

It took 10 working days and had applied in Mumbai.

Integra Verification was done on 5th day with my Co. and the HR employee engagement was made aware by me that she will get a call from BHC.

I had sent all documents mentioned in this forum and had got my asset verfication done by CA.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me.

Regards,

HP

Girish,

Please hunt around on this forum using the search function...there are countless discussions on this very topic. The documentation and process you will need to follow will be specific to your situation, but I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information by spending a little time reading previous discussions.

Right, as I said earlier, what's required is somewhat dependent on your current location and your personal circumstances.

If you tell us where you are currently located, whether you are bringing dependents, etc, we can better help you.

Perhaps in the meantime, you can search for previous posts from others in your country, as they'll be the most relevant.

Hi girish,

The stage 2 comprises of all the documents that you provided for the HSMP approval.

Apart from that you may need to give the following ones :
1) Latest bank statements for 6 months
2) Latest pay slips for 6 months
3) Accomodation letter for your stay in the uk. (if you have accomodation in uk then you can mention that / else get a letter from your friend stating that he can accomodate you in the uk.) Also include the tenancy agreement , friends passport personal page copy, visa copy etc...
4) You must show sufficient funds in your bank account. (Make a note that EC application should be filed from the home country only).
5) If you have spouse / kid, then mention in the VAF1 application section : Other Information : I will bring my spouse and kid after 3 months or so. (This is required for ppl who are planning to get their family here in the uk as dependants of HSMP visa).
6) Add a HSMP Proforma document along the EC application
7) Take a medical x-ray if you have done (Or wait for the intimation from the BHC officer for undergoing the x-ray checkup. This is required at the time of landing in the UK - port of entry)

Thats all i can remember.

Experts add points if you have ...

2) Latest pay slips for 6 months - ok

3) Accomodation letter for your stay in the uk. (if you have accomodation in uk then you can mention that / else get a letter from your friend stating that he can accomodate you in the uk.) Also include the tenancy agreement , friends passport personal page copy, visa copy etc...

i am staying with my relatives,so do i need to provide a letter from them ??

4) You must show sufficient funds in your bank account. (Make a note that EC application should be filed from the home country only).

I am currently in UK...So cant i do my EC from here itself ??

5) If you have spouse / kid, then mention in the VAF1 application section : Other Information : I will bring my spouse and kid after 3 months or so. (This is required for ppl who are planning to get their family here in the uk as dependants of HSMP visa).

Yes, You need to get a letter from your relatives stating that they can accomodate you with them. (when getting the tenancy agreement check the number of rooms in the house. if its overcrowded then the EC offier might think in another way about accomodation and could be a serious problem).

For the filing EC , you have to go to your home country. Thats what i believe. please check with the forum for more info...

I would have thought that girish, already on a work permit in the UK, would apply not for entry clearance but instead for further leave to remain under HSMP; ie use the FLR(HSMP) form.

Some thoughts from my side

1) It may not be necessary to apply from Home country. If you check the HSMP Guidance note, it allows application from country of residence provided you are not there as a temporary visitor -

"The entry clearance application should be
submitted to the British Embassy, High
Commission or Consulate in either your country of
origin or country of residence. You will not
normally be allowed to submit an application for
entry clearance in a country where you are based
as a visitor or other temporary basis."

2) The BHC may not accept the fact that you will not take your family for 3 months till you find a job, as its difficult to prove it. If that happens, the EC officer may expect relevent accommodation and funds for your family and not only for you as individual

Some more queries

1) Is spouse date of birth certificate required?
2) I did not claim points for Age in HSMP. Do I need to produce Birth Certificate?
3) Is Election Card, PAN Card considered to be valid DOB certificate?
4) Can I produce a notarized copy of my Child's Passport for DOB certificate? Actually the Birth Certificate is issued by the local authority and may not be considered an "Official Document". Also, the Birth certificate is in Hindi and so I want to avoid the hassle of Translation by Certified Translator etc.

Please help

Hi All,

Today moring I submitted my file to VFS. (25/07/2007) INDIA
The only thing I felt while dealing with the VFS guys is, they dont want understand anything, you need to make them understand every possible detail.

1. Paid 17,056 * 3 (Myself + Wife + Daugher) = 51,168
2. After paying the amount I was given the medical check form, and was asked to get it done as soon as possible.

Will keep updating as soon as I receive the updates.
