Hi,

Does anyone know if tourist visa will be granted to holders of a British visa(vignette) on a Afghan passport when travelling thru Dubai? If so, does anyone know reputable agents/ companies that can obtain the tourist visa ?
Thanks

Type of visa applied: Settlement spouse visa
Type of application (Priority/Non-Priority): Non-Priority
Application Centre: Cochin

Biometrics : 04/02/2022 at Cochin, India
VFS Email/Mobile message confirming that the application is forwarded to UKVI: 04/02/2022
Email stating "Your Application is currently being prepared for consideration by an ECO": 05/04/2022
Email stating 24 weeks delay due to Ukraine crisis - 11/05/2022
Sponsor contacted by UKVI (if applicable): NOT YET
Employer contacted by UKVI (if applicable): DONT KNOW
Contacted by UKVI: NO
UKVI Decision Making Centre Email: None

Made paid enquires couple of times in May and July and just got a copy-pasted generic reply.
Enquiry made via Local MP in May and he got the same reply from UKVI ‘under consideration and apologies for inconvenience etc’

No contact from UKVI if there are any issues or lack of evidence causing this delays. I noted most Feb applications are getting replies/ approvals but still nothing for us.

Total - 124 WORKING DAYS so far! Been patient so far and it’s so frustrating it’s been more than 24 weeks and nothing yet!

A lot like you.
Had Biometrics collected 18th January 2022 and still waiting.
On my 2nd escalation already; Received a link to make IHS payment after 1st escalation (not sure if that was a coincidence)
Not sure what else to do.

The customer service team mentioned they have escalated our application to the relevant dept on the 25/07/2022 (after 24 weeks)
We did pay the IHS fees (IHS number given too) along with the visa fees when application was submitted. So don’t think its that issue. It’s something that has to be done and VFS check that when you go for the biometrics right? How was your IHS fees missed or your payment never got through?

Yea, Payment wasn't initially required as status was "exempt" from IHS payment at time of application although i was issued a IHS number. It was a bit of a surprise and i retried severally but status remained "exempt" so assumed it had to be correct. Would be nice if they'd at least say what's causing the delay.

Hi, if you don’t mind, could you share when the application was escalated (date) and how many days after this, you got contacted by UKVI? And when was the second escalation made? Thanks

Escalated 5th July and then a month later. Was contacted 10 days after 1st escalation. Did the escalation team contact you at all?
