A Little Hope

Post by mschauhan » Thu Aug 01, 2013 1:10 am

Hi Guys,

I applied on 7th of December 2013, 2 Years HSMP (JR) + 3Years Tier 1 (General). It was my second that I called UKBA couple of days before. The person attended the phone was not in a very co-operative mood and replied to me with the same answer that I should wait. As I requested humbly that it’s been 7 and a half months now and I am in urgent need of my travel documents. He told me to hold the line for a while. After that he confirmed my Home Address and said that I am gonna hear from UKBA in the next 10 to 15 working days but it’s not guaranteed :) He used this sentence twice that it’s not confirmed and hopefully i will hear from UKBA in the next couple of weeks. Having my fingers crossed. Hopefully have some incoming news for December applicants in near future.

Best of Luck to all. Remember in your prayers and I will remember you in mine.

Kind Regards

Rang today.... the very nice lady told me its 'in progress under consideration'. I asked her if that means its been allocated to a caseworker she said 'I think it is with a caseworker'. Noting the word 'I think', I can only hope......

ILR finally received

Post by justjay » Fri Aug 02, 2013 7:27 pm

Just an update guys, I have today returned home to find a package with my approval letter and documents. As already said earlier, I am an 8th of dec applicant - SET(o) HSMP (2 years) + Tier 1 (3 years). The information I was given three days ago was therefore valid. Just to clarify a few issues I had doubts about - theres no need to submit 5 years worth of P60s - I submitted one. They definitely seem to be also working at clearing the backlog so hang in there guys. All the best, you guys were excellent and supportive on the forum. Now I can finally travel!!!

Referring above
Does this mean there has been no approval for the applications submitted even in Jan-2013.

That is for six months not a single approval..

Response to my MP's enquiry.

Post by veejaysea » Wed Aug 07, 2013 2:50 pm

I applied in Januarr 2013, Set(O), from HSMP/Tier 1. When 6 months had elapsed in July, I contacted my MP, who contacted the Home Office on my behalf.

Today the following reply came:
Dear (My MP),

Thank you for your enquiry and attachments of 24 July on behalf of (My name) of (my address), about an application for leave to remain in the UK.

I would like to extend my apologies to (My MP) for the delay in processing this application.

As they are aware, unprecedented numbers of applications received by the UK Border Agency in 2012 led to the development of a significant volume of cases in all categories which have had to be considered out of service standard.

However, I have relayed your comments to our administration team and I can advise you that the application is being processed.

The applicant can expect to hear from us in the near future with a decision.

I hope this information is helpful.

My MP's office suggested I get back to them in mid-September if I've not heard anything. Don't think this enquiry has had much impact, but looks from here that I won't see anything soon?

Hi veejaysea,

How long took your MP to respond and home office to your MP?

Would you mind to give some time line ?

Thanks

ILR seto december applicant

Post by jeeboo1046 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:06 pm

Hiya. I,m seto hsmp/tier1 general applicant. I applied on 21st of december 2012 and still waiting. I called home office today and they told me that ur case is with the ''processing team''. I requested the lady to tell me clearly if it has been assigned to a ''case worker'' or not. Then she replied and asked if I had provided biometrics. I said yes, I had provided them in january this year. she said it means that your case is being processed. I requested her again that please tell me clearly if a single case worker is working on it. Then she said that your application is in queue. After that she continued and told me that November applications are being processed at the moment. I asked her that November applications are being processed since last 2 months, and still not completed whereas i have heard that few December cases have been processed, why??. she said that its the only update they have, that the applications being processed belong to November 2012. Then she asked me if I would like to participate in a survey to tell them how satisfied I was with customer service. I was raging at time and refused it, said good bye and finished my call.

My application date is 20th Dec and I also called Home Office on Monday. I have called them a few times since the last two months and I never received any clear answers from them. I wish they asked me to participate in the customer survey. This is such a waste of time calling them.... I also raised a freedom of information request about the actual processing time compared to the advertised 6 months and I have yet to get any reply from them. I also think that MPs request has no effect on the Home Office.

Backlog and delay impacting job offer

Post by Saikripa » Fri Aug 09, 2013 8:57 pm

I am 08th Feb 2013 applicant for Set (O) Tier1 with two dependents. Biometric done on 7th March 2013.

My situation is I am getting job offer which help me both professionally and personal growth, but due to backlog with UKBA and delay in my application decision, my new employer has put my offer on hold.

Already spoken with MP two weeks back and he indicated that wait for 2 more months and contact in the month of October 2013 again. Same reply I got from Ombudsman to wait as there is backlog and there is delay in ILR applications.

Any other advices, how to expedite my case based on my situation. Employer is bit hesitant in providing offer letter as my existing visa expired in the month of June 2013 but per UKBA it impose no resitriction to work till submitted application decision is made.

Appreciate any advices/suggestions....

October 2012 Application Set O

Post by WaitingSinceOctober2012 » Sun Aug 11, 2013 10:21 am

Hi , I applied for ILR October 2012 and still waiting. Nearly 10 months now and I have called 3 times UKBA only has the standard response "You have to wait". Form Set O , 2 years HSMP & 3 Years Tier 1. My timeline is below.

Application sent 19th Oct 2012
Acknowledgement 26th Oct 2012
Biometrics Given 02 Dec 2012

I have booked air tickets for December this year and now beginning to get worried that my passport will not come in time

Is anyone from October 2012 still waiting?

Thanks

Did your application had any dependants on it?
Any complications in your applications?
Did you involve MP?

If your visa expired in June, you should have applied around May and not in Feb. There is now a good chance your application will be returned back as it states on their website you should not send applications before one month of visa expiry.
On another note, if you need your passport while your application is being processed, there is a provision of requesting your passport back without withdrawing from the process. But you cannot travel outside the country, its only for ID proof purposes.
