Got my ILR approval letter today. HSMP + Tier 1.
Four years stay in Uk as am covered by Judicial review policy doc.

I applied 23/12/2012 (myself and 4 dependants).
Biometrics done January 2013.
Long wait after that!
Large envelope received today with all the documents I sent them plus a letter dated 19 September saying that my application has been approved and I should receive my biometric card in 7 days.

My story is a bit complicated but worthwhile mentioning as it may benefit someone:

I first got HSMP visa in 2005. One year to start with then extended for further four years up to 2010.

In 2007 I decided to leave the UK to work abroad.

In December 2008 I returned back to the Uk (still on HSMP visa which was valid till 2010).

When I returned back to Uk in 2008, I obviously had to begin counting my stay from zero again as I left the country for nearly 16 months!

In January 2010, as my HSMP visa was running out, I applied for extension to stay as Tier 1. They gave me 3 years visa.

In December 2012, I have now completed 4 years after I returned to Uk in 2008 (on HSMP first then on Tier 1). I therefore applied for ILR (after 4 years only not 5 as I am covered by the Judicial review policy document).

I have 6 points on my license for driving an uninsured car. There was no court hearing. It was treated as a fixed penalty notice. I mentioned it in my application under the part that says 'further information'. It did not affect my application for ILR at all.

That's all folks!

Thanks for all the forum members..you guys are fantastic! And above all, thanks be to Allah.

Still Waiting 11+ Months now for straightforward SET M

Post by kittylitter030507 » Sun Oct 06, 2013 6:10 pm

Still Waiting 11+ Months now for straightforward SET M Application. Was told 3 weeks ago by email that it has not even been assigned to a caseworker yet and they just don't care what impact it has on our lives. I am a British Citizen and my husband of 5 years is Egyptian.

My husband has started a new business but needs to be able to travel within Europe and of course he can't as the still have his passport. They don't give you any chance to progress and contribute to the economy. :(

Timeline - Set M Application for ILR
Postal application for ILR on 29 October 2012
Biometrics done 12th December 2012
DAT 1 form requested and done 11th February 2013
6th October 2013 - Still waiting!

New Rules on Minimum Eraning Requirement

Post by kittylitter030507 » Mon Oct 07, 2013 1:13 pm

Can anyone tell me if the new rules regarding minimum income requirement will apply to us even though our application was already in 6 months before that came into effect?

ILR Approval date: wating
BRP received: wating

Documents sent...... All the original docs were given back to us apart from BRP card and of course the photographs:
*My wife's non-British passport
*my British passport
*Two photographs of my wife
*My photograph x 1
*My 6 Months payslips
*Wife's last 3 months payslips (part time)
*3 months bank statement of 2 current account (separate names)
*LITUK certificate
*Wife's current BRP (expiring on 18th Oct)
*Marriage certificate (though it wasn't required as the spouse visa was granted on the same marriage) The council lady told us it's only required if we got married after she was granted spouse visa which isnt the case.
*16 cohabitation documets (from 4 different souces) including one joint bank account statement from every year, 3 water bills in joint names, a tenancy agreement in joint names, 3 British Gas bills in joint names from every year and 3 x 2 NHS letters from 2011-13 in both but separate names.
The council lady was stressing more on documents in joint names on the top of what we already provided. It wasn't making sense as she already had more than enough cohabitation proof. Anyway the application is gone and the waiting game begins from now.

ILR SET(O) WP+Tier1 (1 dependant)

Timeline:

Applied: 21/02/13
Bio: 06/03/13
called UKBA 3-4 times after 6 months lapsed.

Sent an expedition request on 02/10/13
Recieved BRP: 09/10/13
Passports: Waiting....

I am not sure whether expedition request helped or not but looks rather coincidental that BRP got posted 3 days after expedition request. A lot of applications are getting completed similar to my timeline so cant be sure what helped.

All praise to Allah (SWT).

I have seen a change in UKBA customer service recently (i.e. providing more information like tracking no. etc). Not sure if it is too little, too late...

Cheers

FOI details for SET(O) postal processing times

Post by mhp_uk » Thu Oct 10, 2013 1:52 pm

All, just to give you a perspective of timeframes for SET (O) postal applications, I sent the UKBA a FOI request and finally got a response as below

My Question:
Of all SET(O) postal applications approved between 1st of April 2012 and 31st March 2013, what was the percentage of applications approved within: A) 3 months or less; B) between 3 & 6 months; C) more than 6 months?

UKBA Response
Between the 1st of April 2012 and 31st of March 2013 a total of 17,128 granted cases were despatched:
A) 9.24% were despatched within three months
B) 60.64% were despatched between three and six months
C) 30.12% were despatched over six months

Hope it helps those who have been waiting for more than 6 months to know that about 30% of the total applicants are in a similar position. I myself had to wait about 8 months before I got mine through.

hi all
I've got my ILR approved today! Following is the timeline.

28 Mar 2013 Application posted
02 Apr 2013 Received at UKBA (as per the royal mail tracker)
03 Apr 2013 Payment on Credit Card debited
04 Apr 2013 Credit Card statement showed the payment
04 Apr 2013 Current T1G expired
08 Apr 2013 Acknowldgement Letter received (Dated 04 Apr 2013)
10 Apr 2013 Biometric Notification Letters received (Dated 08 Apr 2013)
15 Apr 2013 Biometrics given in Post office
12 Oct 2013 Approval Letter Received (Dated 11 Oct 2013)

First of all, I thank this forum and all of you wonderful people for being so helpful.

My application was SET(O) with 1 Dependant for 5 year residence on HSMP (2 yrs) and Tier 1 (General) (3 yrs).

One thing worth mentioning is I haven't sent all 5 P60s, the 2010-2011 one was missing. I submitted my Mar 2011 payslip which actually had YTD values that would be in the P60. I have explained this in the cover letter.

I haven't bothered to call the home office atleast once and neither tried to contact MP. So the folks waiting, don't worry you'll get yours soon, just keep patience. Wish you good luck.

Opening the champagne now ;)
