Thanks! Took like 2 years from start to finish, hopefully others' experience will be less than that.
And you’ve taken likely thousands of days off other people’s wait time with your advice and help to avoid mistakes.
I would like to second Vadrar! Congrats and thanks for the advice!

Hello

I’m just wondering how long did it take for you guys to receive the ceremony invitation after they sent an email informing that the citizenship fee €950 was processed?

Thanks
My own observation, which might be wrong, is that they sent the first batch of invitations yesterday and it was to applicants who received approval in October. There were several applicants who received approval on the 20th of November. I think those will be included hopefully in the 2nd batch of invitations for Dec ceremonies. I’ve also noticed that invitations come in batches (not individually) and same goes for approval letters as well
No this is not the case as I received my approval in October and made payment in October and have not received the invitation to the ceremony.
I really hope you receive it in the coming few days for this ceremony. I’m hopeful and waiting for my invitation as well

Appreciate the reply on the quarterly emails.

I am a 2021 (January) applicant, received my approval in May, payed straight away and got my confirmation email that payment has been processed at the end of May 2023. Hopeful that they include me in the December ceremonies since my home country doesn't approve of dual citizenships unless there are specific reasons and then they limit the approval to two years which is not a long time.

Approvals are by post.

Invitations (after paying 950) are by email.

I received my invitation for the December ceremony this morning. Ceremony date 19th December, I applied in December 2022 and its been a smooth sailing to be honest. The invitation to the ceremony was sent via email. I wish you all the best and hopefully you get yours soon.

Same here for us :)
Best of luck and a speedy process to everyone!

I have a question, please: when they say that children are not allowed to the ceremony… do they mean anyone under 18 or small children?
My daughter is 17 and she will be travelling to Dublin but according to this restriction it seems she will miss the ceremony.

Guests sit separately to the applicants, so they are mostly trying to avoid minors being unaccompanied. If she is happy to sit on her own and just walks in confidently she should be fine.

Hi all, very happy for you!
I am 2023 applicant, received the approval letter and the payment of 950 euro was processed on 29th of November. Did not receive the invitation (spam folder checked). Does anyone know if more invitations will be sent for 18/19 December ceremony?

They issue invitations to fill declined spots up to about 2 days before - but this isn’t a huge number of spots. They have issued invitations for all 3 time slots on the 19th, so they’ve likely finished the mass invitations.

Concur to that - guests' ID wasn't checked on the ceremony.

Didn't they mention seven ceremonies in their announcement? They had 6 slots filled, but as they mention seven, they potentially should squeeze another one in there?

Hi I have been invited to ceremony on December 19th and by chance a friend at work has also been invited on the same day. We have different times though.

My friend said he sent his original passport to Tipperary for Garda vetting. I don't know all the details we're both from different countries, I never had to send mine. Anyway he didn't get the passport back yet but needs it for ID at ceremony. Who can he contact to get it back ASAP?

Thanks

He might've asked to send a Police Certificate for his Garda Vetting, not his passport; never heard about being asked to send a passport before, but I don't know, maybe with the new system they take passports for verification like that.
I'd advise him to a) recheck the email and b) send emails to citizenshipinfo@justice.ie explaining his situation?

Ok thanks I'll get him to email. Yes sounded strange to me too that he sent it away.
