We were approved in Jan 2012 based on Spouse of Irish, and sent the 950 Euro+GNIB etc., by 15 Jan, but haven't heard anything back from INIS, anyone in similar situation?

i dont know what is going on.its seems like again u turn from another govt.they should atleast clear the backload from 2007-2010 all the applicant till now.also next ceremony is in 1 april only 1000 people invited .they should have atleast 2500 for every ceremony from now on ?than there is chances to clear the backload till june 2012.even they didnot take the last ceremony details from the website www.inis.gov.ie its look like they just (forget) about us.

how did u come to know that its only 1000 people ? i guess if they say a back log of 16000 then even 2500 at a stretch would not clear by june-2012. Its frustrating but nothing can be done except wait and watch.

as per the link http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0202/citizenship.html it says the backlog is 22K and some 28 ceremonies were held.

I have heard and seen around 5 till date. Is 28 true ? or am i missing something here

thanks

the backload was 22000 applicant in march 2011.minister already decide over 16000 applicant till dec 2011.they already clear 3000 applicant this year.last year they cleared half the applicants non complex cases where average time should take longer than normal cases. so backload is not that huge.if they keep citizenship ceremony everymonth they will clear before june 2012. there is already 28 ceremony held in ireland.my friend is invited for 1 april 2012 ceremony.in her letter its written there approx 1000 applicant taking the oath.is anyone else ring citizenship divsion today ?any update

Hello,
I got my pink letter today from Minister inviting me for ceremony on 1st April. - (April's fools day :) )

Applied for naturalization on January 2010 on basis of 5 year working visa.
Got confirmation on 26 February 2010
Approved on 22 February 2012, so waited for 2 years sharp.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!

Hi All,

Received my pink letter this morning with approval! Invited to the 1st April 2012 ceremony in the Convention Centre (April fools and a Sunday!) :D The letter stated there would be 1000 attending the ceremony - so perhaps many more pink letters still to come?

Applied April 2010
5 Years Work Permits
Approved 22nd Feb 2012

I had just renewed my Stamp 4 on the 21st of February 2012, so paid 150 euro for the pleasure, and now to be followed by another 950 (oh well!)! Good luck to you all & keep the faith!

Just under 2 years - no further documentation requested or required (I did send them 3 payslips and my updated contact details when I changed jobs last year).

Doesanyone know if you are issued with your certificate of naturalisation at the ceremony (which is then used to apply for your passport) or if you need to wait for the certificate to be sent?

I want to apply for my passport straight away as I am travelling in May.

Thanks for any info...

@KODO - I received my pink letter invite to attend the ceremony this morning. I have not paid or sent my GNIB / photos yet.

The letter states these must be sent before March 9th in order to attend the ceremony on the 1st April.

I will send the payment and requested items next week (payday).

I assume once these have been sent you arrive as planned at the event (the letter states you must bring your ID and invitation and go the desk number 15 I think).

IQU --> I did not understand 2 things.

1. There were only 4-5 citizenship ceremonies that were held. How come u said that 28 were held ?
2. If 16000 applications are approved, how come only 1000-2000 are being called ? and more over i hear many boarders saying that the application is with an external agency when they call ..

i am really confused.

thanks
