Personal suggestion for anyone (who applied between March -July and needs an URGENT decision) & who submitted biometrics via IDV app ONLY and still waiting for more than 3 weeks:

You may want to consider booking a FREE appointment now and go for dual submission to test your luck. For now free appointments are available for next week. Free appointments maybe consumed quickly after it opens for ALL on 21st Sep.

No idea what is going on the UKVI side. Exactly 12 weeks since the application submission and almost 8 weeks since the biometrics submission via the IDV app. No update from the UKVI.. absolutely dead silence.

Congratulations @sugaz 🥳 🥳 🥳 really happy for you mate and a massive thank you for the prompt update as this would confirm to us that they are still dealing with August and not just April-July considering that we have not seen Aug approvals reported in this forum since 14/10/2020. Yours came after exactly 2 weeks. Hope there will be more approvals for the rest of the week.

It has definitely slowed down for all categories. This may be because of the Tiers and restrictions in some parts of the UK.

I was under the impression that they are working from home. Every little excuse to not work.

I will do.
thanks
Just an update on my timeline.
I contacted home office after my 6 months and they said that they will update me in 10 working days.
a week later I contacted my local mp through email and they have escalated my application to the home office but mp advised that home office usually has a time frame of 20 to 25 working days to reply. So lets wait and see.
Hi Guys,
Quick update on my application. I received my successful decision yesterday through email.
Hi Guys,

Do I wait for my new BRP to arrive before I cut my old BRP and send it back to them or send my old brp now without receiving my new brp?
Another update.. Just received my new brp today on 28th/October/2020

Thank you for the constant support guys; especially Cullinan.

I will try to stick around to help others.

I have put the full time line in the FLR M timeline thread.

@Ameline
Looking at different forums and facebook groups looks like EVERYONE is applying for spouse visa’s. No wonder why this route is slower than others - simply because of the NUMBER of applications more than any other route (speculation).
Personal opinion only, not to be mistaken for legal advice. Please DO NOT PM me for immigration advice. Love for All, Hatred for None.

Similar observation from my side. Either that, or the proportion of people posting on public spaces regarding spouse visas/ILR is significantly higher compared to other routes.

I concur on that, because I have three cousins who have all applied for ILR on spouse route in June, July and August and they are all still waiting so it must be that the volumes are greater than the other routes.

@ajitu92, the timeline thread shows a 11th August applicant also receiving approval today. From the timeline thread, do you have a count of July and August SET LR applicants and how many have received approvals?
No worries if you dont have these stats. I am literally checking the timeline thread every 5 mins

Yes, sir...already spotted and updated! I do have them, I check the thread every 30 minutes too, keep the stats up to date and inadvertently get my hopes up and dashed every 30 mins  I've also been adding some that I happen to see on places like Facebook.

July:
42 applicants. 5 outstanding. 2 of the 5 are potentially complex cases.

August:
26 applicants. 5 decisions (approvals) made. Latest being 11th August. 5 applicants pre 11th August are still awaiting decisions.

I know a few people who were eligible to apply in April/May but waited for priority service and ultimately applied in July after giving up hope
Fingers crossed

On Set O front, looks like a lot of IDV approvals vs in-person cases. I think I saw 3 vs 1. Maybe they are focussing more on clearing IDV backlog now.

I am also one of them. I was eligible on 20th Jun 2020 (came to UK on 18th Jul 2010). However I was waiting for premium service to commence. UKVI did not clearly communicate that they have no plan to start. I called UKVI helpline and they kept on saying wait. If they would have clearly told that there is no plan to start premium service, I would have applied on 20th Jun itself. Due to this uncertainty I finally applied on 4th Aug. So my application got delayed by 1.5 months. I feel UKVI should be much more clear about their plans. It will help lot of applicants.

No problem :) Yeah, July seems to have had a big bulk of applications. Maybe that's why August is moving quicker and already at 11th. I think we will be at least at 15th August by the end of this month.

Thank God, finally I received today the decision letter for my SET(O) application. 4 months and 16 days having my nerves got burnt.
My timeline is as follows
Applied: 12th June
Reusing my biometrics email: 6th Sep
Submitted pic on IDV app: 7th Sep
Decision email: 28th Oct
BRP: waiting

Thank you all for the support and sincerely advice.

It is just random how applications are processed if you look at the timelines.

However I believe, initially, applications are picked up in date order.

The straight forward cases go in ONE queue and the ones that require more case work or enquiries are put aside and join another queue. These applications are dug under the rubble and only dug out at the mercy of CW.

Some enquiries come back quicker than others or picked up earlier from the second queue as per CW’s load.

But some cases are just dug under the rubble and neglected to rot. It is pure luck!!

I think if someone has not heard back in 8 weeks after biometrics, you most likely are in the second queue as stated above.
