I summitted pre application date documents because from the time i had sent documents for the application it took my wife 3 months to submit the application. So they wanted the latest docs pre submission of application which is what I sent. It also clearly stated that only docs pre application would be considered.

i sent bank statements that i had after i had submitted the application 3 months after submitting as i only sent 4 to start off with, do anyone know if they will accept these, on my letter it did not say they had to be pre apllication, it just said you have not submitted 6 months so i sent what i had after the application

Anyone received any news regarding their spouses???

Not long for the review to happy in the first week of March 2014.

An important date has been set regarding the future of the financial threshold requirements related to UK settlement visa applications for partners, fiancees and spouses of British citizens and UK permanent residents wishing to live permanently in the UK. In July 2013, the High Court decided that although the income requirements set by the Home Office were not illegal, they were however unreasonably high and in the words of the court, ‘unjustified and disproportionate’. The Home Office subsequently challenged this verdict. The appeal will be heard between the 3rd and 5th of March 2014.

The current financial requirement in place regarding UK partner, spousal and marriage visas under the settlement policy is an income of £18,600 per year for couples with no children. The main reason for the disapproval of the High Court was that this figure is approximately £5000 more than the average income of a UK resident. Furthermore, there are further income requirements for those wishing to bring children and other dependents into the country, which resulted in the UK marriage visa process being viewed as an insurmountable barrier to bringing a foreign family member or partner to the UK.

Can someone please tell me what are the chances that the hearing will go in our favour ?

And if it done, does that mean all the people on hold will get their visas granted !?

Hi saf786,

To the best of my knowledge I believe that even if the decision is in favour of lowering the minimum income, after the decision it will still take time to implement, it could take further months before they start granting visa's.

Thank you for the reply.. As long as it's good news for us who are on hold and we have a chance for visas to be granted then that's enough to no really.. Some of us have waited so long already another few months can't be hard as long as the outcomes good inshAllah.
I don't want to be waiting this long just to find out in beig refused :-( seriously

Hi Guys, A Very Good Morning To You All :D

I just woke up and casually checked my phone for my emails as I do everyday... Normally it's work or spam but today was SPECIAL :P

I got a email from Gerry's telling my that my wife's passport is ready for collection :D I was over the moon when I read this.

Really happy they told me today and not Friday otherwise the weekend would have come in the way. Going to call my wife today and inshallah she will pick her passport up tomorrow.

I really hope it's good news, tomorrow when she goes to pick up her passport it will have been exactly 4 months to the day that we submitted our case, 85 working days. Since they never asked for any additional documents or anything like that I feel like they will have granted the visa but I'm still reluctant and don't want to get ahead of my self. Still people please do dua that it's a positive result.

I do dua for everyone that they succeed in there cases and my advice would be to never give up and have faith in Allah, whenever it's meant to be it'll happen. Everything happens for a reason, be patient and grateful.

P.S I'm over the moon LOL, can't wait till she goes to pick her passport up tomorrow, I'm so excited I don't know how I'm going to control myself for the next 24 hours LOL.

Plus can anyone be tell me that after the visa is granted, what is the time frame that you need to travel in. As some people say it's 28 days where as others say it's 3 months. I will ask my solicitor to confirm but I would appreciate your advice, and thank you everyone on this forum for providing a support system for people like me. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
