Batley khan, the reason why I am saying that you don't need the Urdu one is because I myself applied for our case in Islamabad. I am Muslim and also have the Urdu nikkah Nama, but never provided them with that as was told that is not essential. I just gave my English translation that I got stamped by the maulvi again and also from the foreign minister.

I did get the visa, it was not a refusal. So I'm talking upon my own case, I know what I have submitted and what I haven't!

Which is why I'm saying you don't need to. Maybe in some cases they might require it, but gerrys clearly told me as well that only the English translation is required, it doesn't matter if you submit the Urdu one or not. If nobody believes me, then you guys could ring up gerrys yourself and ask them.

Anyway my case is a good enough proof that you don't. So people who say I'm misleading them should talk through experience which I obviously did.

Regards.

Did your english version of nikkah nammah have your original signatures and seal from teh Union Council on it. If so then that is accpted . It may be that in the cities they may have an English version, but in most of rural Pakistan it is the tradional form "b" in urdu which then has to be translated it into English.... but the translated verson is not a legal binding document unlike th eUrdu one in in its originalityinality. It maybe that you were lucky and teh ECO did not bother as the rest of your documents were all in order. I ahve been doing this type of work for a number of years s the marriage certificate is the most important document in teh application for spousal visa.

Thank GOD my wife got her spouse visa today ...
Special thanks to BattleyKhan, snipered, Tweety.

Applied: 26/5/10
Application under process: 9/6/10
Visa Granted: 10/8/10

So it normally takes 2 months after your status changes as VISA APPLICATION UNDER PROCESS. And dont worry just keep checking your status every morning it would change straight to PLEASE COME COLLECT YOUR PASSPORT or what ever. They usually text you around 8.30-9.30am on the applicants mobile number to come and collect the pp.

Dont worry guys inshAllah all of you guys/applicants would get their visas inshAllah.

thanks so much guys. I seriously could not do with out batleykhan and his list of documents that he told us to provide. I'd like to thank all the forum members as well and especially naz786 and nazia786 and qasim and yousafa too and the rest of you guys too. I have searched so many forums for help and this is the one that i stuck to religiously. The other website was just rude and just wanted to make money out of our miseries but im glad i found this one.

I had alot of weaknesses my application i feel and i was stressing so much about only providing 3 months worth of statements and payslips and that i didnt provide any pics of us before marriage or any other supporting evidence of us communicating through love letters or email because we dont have any of that. Had to get myself lyca mobile and vectone mobile to show an itemised list of us communicating even though i had a bzillion phone cards.

Now i have one important question, my husband keeps telling me that he has to enter within 28 days as he keeps hearing. Is this true?

please let us know asap as she plans to travel in end of nov ... is that worth?

That does not matter, because you don't even have to submit the Urdu Nikkah Nama. You only need the english translation, that is what I submitted with my application, and got the visa.

Make sure that on the English Nikkah Nama (translation), you have the DOB written.

Hope this helps,

@ehmud555: thanks, yeh it make sense. i'll make sure that.
however in this forum most of the people are talking about submiting urdu Nikkah Nama as well.

@dr in distress
i wish you and everyone best of luck. its difficult to live separate.

All those enquiring on how long after the issue of visa do their spouse have to travel to the UK.

They can travel as soon as visa is issued or within 3 months time as that would enable to them to complete the 24 months for their next stage of obtaining their ILR ( 24+3 months = 27 months visa)

Appeal Lodged

Post by z4ydi » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:03 am

My solicitor lodged the appeal and sent the appeal form with the new evidence on 05/08/10, how long should I wait before receiving any news i.e. decision overturned or court date from UKBA? It has been about 3 weeks since, does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do now - wait or trace it by writing to them etc. Any suggestions, past experience, info will be much much appriciated.

Visa collected

Post by joe_90 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:51 am

Salaams to All,

Thanks to Allah my wife collected her passport with visa today.

I liked to thank you everyone on this forum for their feedback on the visa application process. I found this website after i submitted the application but found comfort that i was not alone in the process.

I emailed the UKHUB on Friday on the present position, got reply back yesterday morning to advise that an error in the printing processed had occurred they will reissue the visa and get the documents back to me ASAP.
At 14.15 yesterday i checked the on-line status changed to collection.

My Timeline :

Submitted Mirpur VAC : 20/05/2010
under process : 03/06/2010
Employer contacted : 13/07/2010
Decision made 16/07/2010
Visa reissued :12/08/2010
Passport collected 24/08/2010

If anyone would like any help please give me a shout.
