Method of application: Solicitor
Application sent: 29/10/2014
Date of receipt by UKBA: 30/10/2014
Date of debit of fees: 07/11/2014 (debit card)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 14/11/2014
Date of receipt of approval: -
Date of Ceremony: -

Still waiting! I got a letter from HO asking for proof of residence between 2009 and 2010 and I sent my old TD. The request of information was made by a caseworker so does that mean the wait is over (if everything is correct)? I heard that if you're assigned a caseworker then you'll receive a decision within a week or two.

I can see so many of you have received your approval. Is there anyone who has been waiting since October?

I'm still waiting, I haven't heard anything. Contacted them twice and I've heard different answers such as wait one to two weeks and call us back and it can take up to another 6 months :? I don't know anymore.

But congrats to everyone who has received their approval :D

Hey abundantgirl if its over 6 months then dont let HO play with u for another 6 months, how come they ask u to wait another 6 months without giving u any valid reason. do whatever u can do to expidite the process. Involve ur MP, call them and ask them that u want to talk to ur caseworker, email them, make a compaint, make an FOI request of ur case etc etc.

did u had any convictions or anything which can delay the process or was it a straight forward case?

Hi waiz89k, thank you for your advice. I'm not sure why they play around with people so much, I think I'll have to wait for re-election but I will contact them as much as I can. My case was very straight forward, no convictions, nothing to hide. I'm just not sure what could take so long. When I call them, they never ask for details just tell me to wait.

Just hoping for the best.

Dear If 6 months r over, Call HO and talk to ur case worker or senior manager or if they r not available then ask them to arrange a call back from them. this is ur right and they r obliged to do so, So do it asap if 6 months r over. It will help and if ur case is still gathering dust then it will be look into atleast, as they know u start chasing it.

Email them as well on further nationality enquiries email address and on the complaint email address too. Here on this forum couple of people have done the above procedure and they have got their brown envelope within one month. I hope it will work for u too.

Do let us know here of any update.

best of luck.

congratulation julain11. Ur case is yet another example of incompetency of HO case workers. I hope they start working sensible and do the work properly which they r getting paid for.

Hi Jef

How were you maintaining yourself?

You can send your bank statements covering the period they have asked for.

The caseworker wrote to me as well beginning of April 15; asking for further evidence of residence.

I sent bank statements, college enrolment, hospital appointments letters, exam results, council tax bills, job letters
etc. My parents were supporting my studies so I also sent several credit advice showing the funds I received from them.

I applied for BC in June 2014 and still waiting.

Depending how you supported yourself during the period they have asked for, you can demonstrate that by evidence of bank statements. Just be mindful that if you don't have the bank statements, you can request for them from the bank, however, there's a charge for historical statements.

I did not have leave stay at that time. I can get bank statements but the question is that are they going to accept it and decide based on the statement or HO already made up their minds for refusal to everyone who overstayed in last 10 years.

I didn't forget about you guys, I just logged in to check that my application is in fact past the six month deadline and it is. I came back in from a long weekend yesterday and the nice woman told me that she could tell citizenship hadn't been granted yet as my fingerprints were still on the system - apparently they get wiped as soon as it's granted. I am quite upset by this happening AGAIN as I was really hoping to get it back in time to register to vote. I doubt anyone is still looking at the October thread since you all seem to have gotten it back REALLY quickly but I guess it's time to get a lawyer. Again. like when the lost (or something) my ILR...I have no idea why they don't like me!

I'm in the same boat unfortunately. My ILR took longer than excepted to arrive as well. Both of my ILR application & my current BC application are straightforward. I have been seeing few of the October applicants updating their timeline this month so hopefully the rest is on the way! All the best with your application.
