So today I found out why. I got a letter from HO, dated 25 June, saying the following:
Dear Mr Stoofie,
Re: Mr BillyBob Stoofie Azania 1 January 1970 [*]
I refer to your application for British citizenship.
The appropriate fee is £1005.00
The amount we have received is £0.00 Therefore we need a further £1005.00 in order to continue with your application.
[*] fictional names, dates and places, to protect the innocent
This was followed by instructions for payment, and an attached payment slip.
I am utterly confused by this. I applied via NCS (Ealing), and my application included the payment slip on page 3 of fees leaflet -
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... t_2015.pdf.
I know it was included, because the clerk at the NCS asked me if I wanted to double check the form before he shuffled it together with the other documents. I declined, because I had double checked it already, and had someone else check it for me just to be sure.
Two questions:
1. Has this happened to anyone? Any idea how/why?
2. Can I phone to make a payment? I'd like to get this done is quickly as possible.
Thanks
