It's not over... there are still many applicants in Oct who hasn't had their fees taken reported yet. Don't expect that if money is taken then you are on the way...

Once money is taken & you are acknowledged, then you join the "Main" queue.. and let me tell you... it's HUGE... there are cases there from May/June/July.. last year, so if your fees have been taken, you are at the tail end of that queue for decision.

That is rather disheartening p2kin. I wonder why they be taking payments this early then if there is already a big back log.

As far as i remember, it was taking longer for the previous months even for the payment to be taken, so if the Jan payments are already being taken within 2 weeks, it could only mean that things are moving for sure.

Despite all the odds i think we should not give up hope for first approval around end of Feb for the Jan applications.

I guess i shouldn't.

Was just checking the Oct timeline and indeed there are people waiting for approvals still. not expecting any miracles for Jan applicants.

Sorry if you are disappointed with it.. but that the truth, really bitter truth. The thing is taking payments, that's what HO does as soon as they receive any application. i.e. take payment and move application to "Main" queue.

I can only offer some explanation for that, Oct was so so HUGE, they couldn't even load all applications on their system, and hence it created backlog for "payments to be taken (loading on the system)". Now that in last 2 months they processed some applications, they now are loading as many as possible applications on the system.

Payment taken is the very first step they do when application is loaded on the system, but to process application, it has to be assigned to a caseworker.

There is LONGGG queue for that, if the payment is taken then you get into tail end of that queue. After that, it's your luck as for when it gets processed.... Not to discourage you, but there are applicants from Jun/Jul 2013 in that queue.

I completely understand your point now

I completely understand your point now p2kin, I will take a chill pill for now. Sooner or later the approval will arrive.

I don't think we need to be too scared about applications dating from Jun/Jul 2013. Yes there are a handful, but those are the really exceptional cases that would take long under any circumstances. The 'watershed' period that the HO are up to with approvals is October 24th-25th. All the same, it's a testing wait at the moment, and IMHO even the most optimistic scenario for January applications would be to begin before the end of March. Well spotted about the system loading p2kin. It makes sense now about why the HO got two months behind with the payments as recently as a fortnight ago and now they've caught them right up.

Mate, they've taken fees for about 100 people in the last 3 weeks and that's just the ones that have posted on here. Cut them some slack ;)
