Rella,

Thank you very much for keeping us posted. The current stage we are in, any information is a relief as it at least tells us that there is some progress at the HO end.

My only request to you would be, can you please share one more digit of your application no. This would help us better estimate the progress.

Thanks,
Noddy

VP,

If Rella was contacted on September 21 and the application date on April 20, then your case should have been processed by now. Let us hope you hear from HO very soon.

Noddy,

They are asking for more documentation to be received by Oct. 17. So, probably another few weeks wait...

BTW, the next digit in the ref no is "7."

Good luck everyone.

Guys,

I have just added more approximate application no. of Rella's. Hope you find it useful.

Date________Application NO._Member Name______Location______Status
April 5 2004__0162XX_______Rao_ms____________Saudi________Rejected
April 8 2004__0163XX_______NZ_engr___________New Zealand

May 17 2004_01874X_______Boom05____________Nigeria
May 19 2004_01883X_______Anishpadela_________UAE

VP,

It does not matter if Rella received the letter on September 21 or the letter was dated September 21. Both ways, your application should have been processed by now. Infact, Eastboy can expect his decision letter in the next week itself.

Guys, once again, I request you all to keep the board posted about the outcome of your application. Your news will make the wait for the rest of us much more tolerable.

Thanks,
Noddy

This is my husband's app. They are asking for lots more stuff.

There is info that could be helpful to everyone, so I think it's worth posting.

The surprising one to me is that they are asking for more on our marriage. We sent an orginal marriage certificate -- 22 years we've been married -- that's twenty-two, not two! We moved to the UK a year ago and we tossed most of our old files and packed up the rest and we don't know if they are with family or with us here. We sent as evidence that we live together our lease, a utility bill and a council tax bill jointly addressed. But, they were a year or less old, so they won't accept it. They want evidence exactly two years old. Don't assume that they will look at other papers in the application either. We both had 10 years worth of univ transcripts included, showing the exact same dates and schools during the years we've been married, so it's pretty obvious that we are in fact married and living together! We're Americans and no one I know holds onto utility bills. Once you all get here, hold on to your utility bills, because the Brits use them for all sorts of things!

They also want more info for significant achievement. Hubby submitted 3 publications from prestigious international journals. He submitted an industry ref and an academic ref. Both were incredible letters attesting to major achievements -- husband was embarrassed by the letters, they were so good. HSMP won't accept them, because both people hired hubby as a consultant based on his expertise and reputation. They say they want "independent" references. So, we have to submit other letters now.

He is in the 28+ category (obviously, unless he married at age 6) and they are questioning his 10 years of work experience. They are asking about both extreme ends -- the two earliest and one of the most recent. They wanted to know if the early jobs were senior level. They were not, so I guess he just has to tell them that. Both letters clearly state all of his duties, job title and one even says "graduate-level." For a recent job, they are asking if a consultant job is full-time. He's still on retainrer for this consultant job, but only works on it occassionally. Consultants don't typcially have "full-time" jobs. So, I don't know if we can frame it to be acceptable.

Thinks that's it. Hope we can get enough for them approve it. But it may all be moot anyway, since he applied in-country on a student visa when he's not completing the program. The rules for FLR change on Oct 1, so he'll no longer be eligible to switch visas. I have idea what will happen -- if they will allow him to switch, since he will have submitted the HSMP application 6 months previous to the changing of the rules. I don't know if they will allow us to use the HSMP and go to home country and get an entry clearance. We may just be completely screwed. I can't even say how anxious I am...

Hope that info is helpful to someone...

Eastboy,

This is very strange. Your application no. is 1697X and Rella's husband's no. is also 1697X. Rella had put a post saying they have been contacted by HO on September 21 for further details. In that case how can your application be processed in next 5 days on September 22.

Well, all the very best to you.

HO working very slow

Post by VP » Mon Sep 27, 2004 9:38 am

Eastboy, Noddy

I really shocked to see your message that they have not still send your decision letter  HO people are working very very slow. I don't understand why they are not increasing staff to clear the backlogs. If this trend continue after 1 year it will take atleast 12-15 months to get the hsmp approval

Really frustrated with this long waiting period

Hi VP,

Have patience. In all probabilities, both Eastboy as well as your application would have been processed. Eastboy received the mail on September 22 and today it is September 27.

Hopefully both of you will get the letters soon.

Wonder if HO is going to update the website today or not.

Noddy.

Post by NZ_engr » Mon Sep 27, 2004 2:32 pm

Hi everyone
Just so that you have the data today (Mon 27 Sept) I received my approval letter, dated the 27th August. My application was received on 8 April (Ref No 0163**) so it took about 4.5 months plus 1 month to be posted to NZ and then back to UK as I am now in UK.
Cheers
