yup 15 days hotel booking si enough and book at a gd hotel and u can cancel after ur visa is stamped..try booking at holiday inn or IBIS...u can book and u can cancel till the date of ur booking without any charges(this is what the site says)...they only charge u one night in case u do not cancel n nor do u show up for the booking...i hv done the same...

Hi friends I am planning to book a hotel for accomodation for 15 days

1. is 15 days period enough
2. On booking.com all the hotels have written
"The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival."
What does it mean by pre-authorisation of credit cards?

my HSMP approval letter is dated 5th October 2007, m applying for entry clearance, can anybody just outline and confirm a couple if things for me:
1) i apply with Form VAF 2 and fee of 16K??
2) where do i get the intergra form??

1. yes you are supposed to fill VAF2 and the fee will be 16000
(if anf dependent is going with you then one more vaf2 for dependent and RS 16000 more)

2. for intergra form send a mail to vfsuk.south@vfs-uk-in.com , they will email you all the forms.

Guys,
today Integra contacted my current employer HR. And guess what, the HR questioned my manager about my plans. I had not informed them that I am applying for EC. My manager was pretty upset to know that I applied without keeping him in loop. I tried convincing him saying that I won't abscond one sunny day

The HR can't deny that I work for them because I have given all the supporting docs (offer letter, original payslips, confirmation letter, business card, official id card) to validate that.
Want to know the worst that HR can do in my case? can they withheld my information and damage my application?

REGARDING TRANSITION FROM HSMP TO TIER1

I am pasting the important points from the documents.

The major changes are
1. english requirement as below
2. Increase in initial visa to 3 years.
3. one step process rather than 2 step process with increase fee

In order to avoid the confusion i have applied in the old pattern. If any one requires the document drop a private message with email so tht i can send the document .

245G. Documentary evidence
(a) Where Part 6A or Appendices A to C of these Rules state that specified documents must
be provided, that means documents specified by the Secretary of State in the Tier 1
(General) Policy Guidance. If the specified documents are not provided, the applicant will
not meet the requirement for which the specified documents are required as evidence.
(b) If the Entry Clearance Officer or Secretary of State has reasonable cause to doubt the
genuineness of any document submitted by an applicant which is, or which purports to be,
a specified document under Part 6A or Appendices A to C of these Rules and, having taken
reasonable steps to verify the document, is unable to verify that it is genuine, the document
will be discounted for the purposes of this application.â€

I applied for a post dated EC today from Hyd. Here is my experience:
I booked an appointment last week for 25.03.2008 at 12:20pm
reached VFS at around 12, deposited my bag at the security counter and went in with all the documents. I had to wait for around 15 mins before i was called at counter.

VFS Officer: Which Visa?
Me: HSMP, i would like to apply for a post dated EC
VFS Officer: Give me you app form and all the originals that you have to give
Me: here they are... had already bundled them
The officer took time to arrange them in a particular order and kept filling a form. He kept writing the originals that I was submitting on the form.
VFS Officer: Do you have anything else to submit?
Me: Should i submit the proof of investments?
VFS Officer: If you think that it helps your application, then submit it. We are here only to collect your documents and pass them on.
Me: Ok you can take them ..
VFS Officer: Give me the xerox copy of the following:
- Visa application form
- passport.. all 36 pages
- hsmp approval letter
- hsmp proforma
- employment contracts
- pay slips
- integra form
- degree certificates and marksheets
Me: gave all the docs and reminded him that I would like to apply for a post dated EC
VFS Officer: Do you want your passport couriered back to you? Fill the address where you want to receive it. Also you have to pay 170Rs if you want to get it couriered (He gave me a small slip to fill up the address)
Me: Can i come and collect it at the VFS?
VFS Officer: Yes you can do that, but it would be delayed by 2 days.
Me: Ok, ill get it couriered. I did not have 170Rs off hand with me (I am a card person :p) Asked if i could swipe the card
VFS Officer: NO you cannot swipe your card. You can come back before 3 and give me the money, not a problem

The officer put everything in a bag and gave it to me and asked me to wait in queue for biometrics. The queue was long and i had to wait for around an hour in the queue

While waiting in the queue, i opened the bag and noticed that the officer did not write anything on my form for the post dated EC(Thanks to this forum for educating me on this!) So i went back to the officer and said:

Me: I just wanted to confirm that you have marked my applciaiton for a post dated EC
VFS Officer: Sorry i forgot.
He took my bag, opened it and stamped "POST DATED EC" on it

After the biometrics, i went to the nearest ATM and drew money, came back and paid the officer

Still waiting.. had called up bhc last week.. they asked to wait for 15 working days.. completed 10 working days now.. today is 11th.. will call up sometime this week.

I did not knew that VFS explicitly stamp for post dated EC. I thought I just have to mention in application form 1st column ("Date of arrival in UK") and that the date that get stamped.

I also wanted 1 month post dated EC but VFS did not do anything specific in my case. Any case I will be ok even if it gets on current date as long as it is approved!

Only help i can do is that dont pay more than 500 bucks! he might ask u 750 but i got it done for 500. You can refer him my name ...as Harman.
