I've applied on 15th Oct and was wondering how long it would take to get my passport back once I asked for it. Any idea? :?: :?:

I decided to book a trip on 30th Jan, and as the date approaches I get more and more nervous about losing my tickets so I'm considering to ask for my documents!! I honestly thought that I would have the rc by now!
Took us a about 8 days or so as far as I can remember.

The HO have up to 6 months to issue the RC. Of course, they often do it quicker but they don't have to.

I would be careful about booking tickets before you get your passport back (as it states on the 'document return' website). Wouldn't want anything to go wrong!

First I called the 0300 123 2241 and they said that I needed to call to the 0300 123 2253, this number is only for europeans cases.

Hi guys!

We are new on this board.. First of all we wanted to thank you, we've received our COA (no right to work- unmarried partners) on 12/1/2015, but based on your comments and recommendations we've called and emailed HO and today (16/1/2015) a second COA arrived by post- with a work permit!

Our recommendation to anyone that received his/hers COA with no work permit is to contact HO on 0300 123 2241 and also email them on: nweurocoarequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and ask for another COA!

So far our timeline is as follows:

Application sent- 19/12/2014
Acknowledgement letter - 23/12/2014
COA (no work permit) received- 12/1/2015 (dated 08/1/13)
Email and phone call made on the 13/1/15
COA (with work permit!) received- 16/1/2015 (dated 13/1)

Now waiting for the RC! wish us luck... :)

Just received my RC!!! The funny bit is that I was about to fill out the form to request my passport back!! =P

My timeline:

Application received by HO: 16.10.2014
Acknowledgement letter received: 20.10.2014 ( dated 17.10.2014)
Confirmation Email with the Case ID: 03.11.2014
Don't remember when I received my COA
Residence Card: 17.01.2015 - yes, on a Saturday (dated 12.01.2015)

My nationality is Brazilian and my wife is Spanish (some of you have been asking about nationalities for whatever the reason)...

Best of luck and let me know if you have any doubts!!

Cheers,

HO refuse my EEA application and gave me right to appeal and serve a notice to my wife to leave the country in 30 days or lodge an appeal against the decision.
Me and my wife lodge an appeal,

Her is listed in mid of March 2015

And mine is listed in end of January 2015

What will happen if I win my hearing in January ? Does she still need to proceed her hearing ?

And if I'll win , will HO process my application towards RC or they will wait for my wife hearing ?
God Bless

Did you apply both eea1 & eea2? Cos in my case, only eea2. I read that most of eea2 application was with eea1 application in it. dont know d significance or probably they prioritize eea1 citizen than eea2. :(

Has anyone had any luck when contacting the European caseworkers phone nr to enquire on the process of the EE2 application? I am feeling tempted to just give them a call and see if they can shed any light (given that we have just approached the 3 month mark since I submitted the EEA2 application).

On the other hand, I think they will just say something along the lines of "we are still assessing the application and we cant give you any other information at this stage".

Thanks
J
