Yes, I think there is no worrying concern as such why the applications are held up.
My application was addressed in just 2 hours I think, as I received an email saying decision is made at around 12.00 pm. So it looks like some applications are held up just for no reason. So hopefully no need to worry on that.

I have been in full time employment in major investment bank (which might make a difference) for all these 5 years and along with that just had additional self employment history for couple of months three years back. I had done the self assessment myself online for the corresponding financial year for exactly what I had declared in my extension application. That is pretty much about it.

I had not opted for F2F upgrade as it was not necessary as my bio-metric was already done long back and they have clearly mentioned that, in case they think you need to be there personally they will ask for it.

Hello

Grampkaz

I have received BRP with correction in 38 day. well I have one question. I got ILR approval letter issued on 25th April 2016 and BRP issued on 26th April 2016 with mistakes in my name. Now with correction I have received BRP 02nd June 2016. So, on which date I have applied for Naturalisation AN bit confuse.

Do I have follow the Approval Letter of ILR date, or BRP correction issued date.

Hi Daren7792,

Thanks. What date does BRP show? 26.Apr or 02.June?

That's the 12-month period for the ILR holders.

To be on a safe side just send the AN application form exactly 12 month from the date shown on your BRP.

If the BRP shows 02.June 2016 - send the AN application form on the 02nd of June 2017.

Why are you in a hurry to be a citizen? Does it matter for you if you apply in April or June 2017?

Certainly you'll be waiting. I don't know the waiting time. Just choose specific period after 12 months when you don't necessarily need to travel outside the UK, let's say from August or September and wait.

With ILR you can leave forever, just don't lose the BRP and update it on the date of expiry (and keep the passport of your original country). With ILR you cannot vote, you are not on an electoral register. There may be some problems with credit ratings / loans / mortgages. Although I am not sure myself. My working wife managed to buy a new car and a secure a loan from the bank being a dependant Tier 1 holder. Don't know may be doing a mortgage is a problem?

I had to take a my degrees for the purposes of English Language proficiency. I do not understand all the requirements in this regard, but was told this would be useful.
I did not see a caseworker, except for showing my degrees for me and my wife.
I did not give Biometrics again.

No I didn't have to seeing I have given my bio data already. You will be invited if you are needed to be present or you can pay £100 extra making it £500 to be present and leave with your documents at the end of the day.

Hi Raz1810

I'm waiting since 12-Jan-2016.

I think there is another person on this thread waiting since January.

I sent private messages to the people who submitted in Nov-Dec 2015 - no response.

There is one guy on another thread - he applied at the end-Oct 2015. Four days ago he replied that he is still waiting. Although he was self-employed and in April he was requested to go to a face-to-face interview. He did not clarify what was happening since April. Did he go to the interview, what happened, what was the problem? He is just still waiting.

From the records for last year - the turnaround was much quicker - 100-120 days.
