I hope they send approvals to applicants who have applied on work-permit/Green card permit residency basis ......really tired of this waiting and paying taxes all these years and no benefit or status for my wife :(

A relative got an approval yesterday, letter saying that the mniter wishes to grant you citizenship and asking or further documents. Applied n August 2009 and there was no mention of ceremony date.

If no ceremony date mentioned, they should send their docs, money, GNIB as soon as possible.

They should be in Dec ceremony. Hopefully.

I applied in Dec 2011 and got reference in 2 days. With that speed I was expecting to have mine already but no sign yet.

My guess is they have sent out approval letters without ceremony dates to applicants from 2008, 2009 and may be 2010 as they have been waiting too long ...later this month they will send out approval letter and ceremony invites to applicants from late 2011 and early 2012 for Dec ceremony.

Passport Express (via the Post Office) is the cheapest and fastest method at 10 working days.

Thanks, but I can't seem to find where it says that. Would you have a link by any chance?

passport.ie check PASSPORT APPLICATION TURNAROUND TIMES
It said 10 days but for first time application you need more my experience, some friends and my daughters it was 3 to 4 weeks
Just to not waste few days more, call them before submitting your application to get the right documents like Orginal CON, orginal Full birth certicate and the translation, 2 orginal preuves of addresses..

Initial processing.....

Post by weeno » Fri Oct 05, 2012 11:06 am

Hi Guys,

I've received a letter from initial processing team asking to submit copy of my spouse passport within 28 days. Any body knows how long the initial team take to make the final decision? Will I have a chance to attend the December ceremony?

Thanks,
