the weird thing was i have just come back from india last weekend...it was our 1st year anniversary on march 7th so i went there for two weeks to break the time that we had been waiting for a response from BHC...the reason why it has taken us so long is because my wifes 20 and there was the 21 age law restriction until nov/dec last year....

she will be coming over alone next week if we get a response...once the response comes through i will publish the list of documents that i sent with the application for everyones reference if they need.

Yup, I have asked her to read through the returned documents to make sure she remembers everything in case someone ask at the airport. As far as I know it should be basic info i.e. address in the UK, spouse's mobile number etc.

Thanks a lot again guys for your well wishes.

ok,

so finally after a long search, i found these questions upon arrival for ur spouses that they might ask..

however i doubt they wld ask anything apart frm who has come to pik u up, or whats ur address or whn did u get married or at the max, whn did u guys first meet..

Questions asked upon arrival to the UK

1.Why have you come to UK?

2.Who are you going to settle with?

3.Wife's/Husband's name, Date of Birth and Job Title?

4.How long have you been married?

5.Address in the UK

6.Is this your first time in the UK?

7.Is your wife/husband waiting outside?

8.Is your wife/husband travelling with you?

9.When did you first meet?

10.Was the marriage arranged or love?

11.What was your relationship before marriage?

12.How long do you intend to stay in the UK?

13.When did you get married (Month, year)?

14.Have you been to UK before?

hope this helps everyone....

Hi all,

Lucy thank you for the possible questions list, you're a star!

as promised here is the full document list that we submitted for my wifes spouse visa application in Ahmedabad (India):

Section 1 - Application
- Application Form
- Birth Certificate of wife
- Birth Certificate of sponsor
- Passport Copies for wife
- Passport Copies for sponsor

Section 2 – Statements and Letters
- Covering Letter from me
- Statement from sponsors parents (also covering accomodation)
- Statement from wife
- Statement from wifes parents
- Statement from wifes uncle

Section 3 – Proof of Communication
- www.Localphone.com Phone Statements
- Email Receipt of Gifts
- Valentine’s Day Cards
- Birthday Cards
- Selected emails from my inbox (about 40)
- Screenshot of her inbox screens showing pages and count of emails
- Screenshot of my inbox screens showing pages and count of emails

Section 4 – Sponsor Financials
- Pay Slips from work (6 Months)
- Barclays Bank Statements (6 Months showing £9400)
- Confirmation of Employment
- Letter of Graduate Degree structure
- P60 for year 2010/2011

Section 5 - Engagement 2008
- Photos

Section 6 – Goa Visit 2009
- Photos

Section 7 – Wedding 2011
- Marriage Certificate
- Photos of all functions
- Original Wedding Invitations

Section 8 - Honeymoon 2011
- Photos
- Taj Exotica Maldives booking Confirmation
- Welcome Letters x3
- Thank You and Goodbye Card
- Flight Tickets to The Maldives (Ahmedabad – Bombay – Colombo – Male)

Section 9 – Accommodation
- Council Tax Documents
- Land Registry Document
- Photos

Section 10 – English Language KET
- Certificate (A2 Passed)
- Exam Confirmation Letter
- Statement of Results

Section 11 – Educational Background
- 10th and 12th grade exam results
- NIIT Certificate

I know there are a few things in here that were not needed like the Birth Certificates and maybe the educational background section but I didn't want to think "...if only". Having read through the forum for many months, I have very little faith in the system as it puts unneccessary strain on so many lives!

I hope this helps,

If anyone requires anything else pleae let me know

Hi Lucy,

Does that mean you got the VISA now? That is brilliant news..... Now it is just a matter of time before you get the stamp right? Of man that is brilliant news, i am sooooo pleased for you......

Congrats....

I think I still got a few weeks before I hear only been 3 weeks yet since we submitted.

Also I read somewhere that they might be increasing the maintenance thing to £27,500 in June, this is fine for me as I earn more then that but what a bumber...... Hopefully does not cause any problems though as I only pay my self about £1000 a month on payroll and the rest is bonus's or Dividends just like Harv's.....

Congrats again Lucy

Hi Guys

My wife has landed in the UK safely. The immigration lines were huge and it took her 2 hours to reach the immigration desk.

I was in the assumption that Indian nationals are not required to carry a medical (TB certificate), she was X-Rayed and was told whoever comes to the UK to stay longer then 6 months needs to be examined. Strange but it is happening, but not a big deal as the whole thing took around half an hour to complete.

@ Pazpatel - the income (£25,700) limit is just a leak reported by a newspaper so nothing finalised yet. However it should not effect any current applications. The only issue I can see is the ILR application where these numbers may be imposed.

Any how, best of luck to everyone!!!

As long as they take dividens and bonus payments into consideration I have nothing to worry about anyway, according to my payslips I only earnt £12,000 in the last 12 months anyway but with dividens etc which I have have showered statements and dertificates for go above 60k anyway. Maybe I will start taking more in payroll to avoid all these problems for ILR. Hopefully for us it will still remain at 2 years and not 5 as suggested in this leak....

All crap if you ask me but unfortunatley people have abused the systems making it hard for us honest people who got married in a honest way.

Hi Harv,

Great to hear that your wife has landed!!

2 HOURS?!?!

When I came back from India last week the lines were huge even for british passport holders, but they were being fairly quick. I'd imagine for non-uk passports it could take some time.

My wife is flying out on 5th April :)

Also, regarding the medical, did she have to do that all at the airport? I thought they had stopped the medical as before they used to invite you for a medical during the application stage at some point? Is there anything we can do while my wife is in India to get the relavent medical certificates?

Hi baz

Yes, they did a TB test at the airport which only took an extra 15 minutes nothing more. I was in the impression of the same as well (no needs for tests).

No need to get anything certified in India (TB wise), just let the airport guys do it. I think some staff are not educated with the current changes in the law to stop doing these checks.
