also, being in AFC for so long means no one is looking into it or are they waiting for some responses from someone??
With HO, there's no telling what is normal. My application has been AFC since Feb, sent it in January. AFC should mean that a senior official is s'pposed to look at it but then God only knows. Beats me totally. Hoping and praying for the best.......still waiting.
Good things come to those who wait.................

You can not track your application on a daily basis but this page will you give you an idea of the week when your application is likely to be considerd
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... tingtimes/
Alternatively, after 6 weeks of sending your application you can ring UKBA to hear few golden words about how your application has been (but I am sure you will get a positive response within six weeks)
Good luck with your application!

Hi Guys, need your expert advice about this scenario

My application was received by HO on 10th March, status on 20th and 21st April was under consideration. Folks who applied during this date have received employer verification checks but my employer has not been contacted. Now I have a feeling that HO couldnt reach my HR as they are understaffed. I submitted 12 month original payslip and 12 month bank statements, so do you think they will try any other mean to contact my employer or it may be something else thats causing the delay.

Will appreciate your views.

its not necessarily they will contact employer for every application....they might not have felt the need for it....hopefully it might be pending for some other reasons like review by other caseworker....or sumthing like that...

by the way, mate how did u manage to get the status of your application before 6 weeks. I tried contacting them and they refused to tell me anything before 6 weeks.

Thanks Destination_London. I posted my application on 7th March which was received on 10th March so actually I give them the postage date, just quietly tell them the date of posting your application.

Hey Miki, thats a long wait, but its going to be positive. As they have done the employer verification so I believe good news is just round the corner. But again, I understand this wait is torcherous as well as frustating. Good luck Miki!

HSMP Approved

Post by hayathuk » Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:05 am

Hi all

I though I'd share my happy news with you all. I sent my application at 11th of march and just received my approval today.

I applied as a self-employed, and unlike many others here I didnt pay my self a salary every month instead i took money out of my profit.

I sent my company account and accountant letter showing my gross and net income for the whole period along with my business bank statements as a proof of my earnings. They didn't contact my account which worried me a bit but all is good now.

thank you all for your help, especially those who took time to post in my threads.

and good luck to all who are still waiting...

Docs Sent: 17 March
HO Received: 18 March
Credit Card: 18 March
Approved: 17 April
Passport/Docs Returned to me: 22 April

Total time was 5 weeks and 1 day.

Not happy that the HO bent my Qualification Document. Seems they didnt understand 'Please do not bend' request.

Thanks VK82. Really frustrated now and every single day seems like a week now.

Might be my case is case study for home office and all new trainess going through docs and trying to understand home office process.

Or my all docs are stolen / lost / dumped in bin.

God knows what they are doing...

Is anyone know how to withdraw the application as planning to apply in person instead ?

I am really thankful to this forum, and I wish you all the good luck.
Could you please provide the cover letter content you used for additional one and half month. I will be eligible for ILR if i get another 45days. I am applying in person in liverpool. Thanks for sharing your experience

Dont lose patience miki, you will get the positive response. Your lost passport may be the reason of delay, as you said you provided all the legal documents and this suggests that they are verifying it. So hold it, you will get the news soon.

Congrats Shiju31. Given your time-lines, I suspect you did not apply from within the UK?
