thnk u dear... yeah i had no option apart frm this as my hubby before leaving booked my air ticket for 7 may, 2012. so had to get it changed frm airport...
oh ur wife arrived early...dats nice.. hopefully i'll also come out soon...

It's not snowing London way don't worry. Snow is up north. It is quite miserable down south though.

I'm still waiting to organise flights for my partner to get back to the UK. Hoping to get a flight for next week. Am I one of the few women trying to get their man back in the UK? Sounds like it's the other way around for lots of you. Plus we're on the unmarried partner visa rather than the married one. Hoping to get married soon, something low-key, as we can afford it after sorting all these debts the visa application has caused!

Congratulations to everyone that's had good news and is flying today/tomorrow!

well for jet airways i did ask for myself n they said no tickets available till 15th april, 2012... n honestly i dnt trust anyone else apart frm them in terms of luggage...

hello people frm UK,

Oh yeah, i have reached finally

yesterday landed at 6:33pm n thn immigration check took exactly 2 hrs as UKBA was on long holiday i guess...

oh yes, do remember while coming frm India get ur chest x-ray done to avoid hat extra wait time... i wasnt asked for x-ray as the immi guy saw a UK visit visa in my pp... but there was another newly wed girl who was taken to health control dept... also people on visit visas were being sent to that room...

this forum has helped me a lot and i wld also like to extend the same to others.. so let me knw if i can b of any help on tiny matters as im not an expert n for expertise advice, mods are here who r the best

Any news yet Ravikd? I thought you would have heard by now? Lookined at recent applications across India people seem to be getting news within 6-7 weeks. I hope it has not slowed down at the moment.

Hello everyone,

I've appealed against my visa refusal. My fiancee's bank account in the UK was debited by £140 (the appeal fee) on 12th March, 2012. Its been over a month now and we haven't received any Acknowledgement letter yet.

Is this normal? The reason i'm asking this because as far as I know the Acknowledgement letter arrives within 4 weeks of appealling (please correct me if i'm wrong).

I wish I could help you but not sure really, I woudl just try to contact them if it is over a month. But does it say anywhere when you shoudl recieve a acknowledgement letter by?

there might be a backlog in AIT piling up... i recvd my acknowledgement letter in dec, 2011 whn i appealed in oct, 2011..

so u can imagine.... i guess moderators will be in a better position to answer ur query...

did u send ur appeal by fax or applied online?

You will probably get a notification of a date of hearing near the time of the hearing which can be as much as 6 months.Its very rare you get acknowledgement letter, but if the fee has been deducted, you can be rest assured your appeal has been received.You have to remember that your appeal will be forwarded to the ECM at the post that you applied. He will review it and if he changes his mind, he will write to the applicant to bring their passport in for visa to be stamped. If he sticks to original decision of refusal, he will respond back to IAT who will then fix a date for hearing

Thanks papz for replying back. It doesn't say anything anywhere. Just because my solicitor said so and I also had an experience with the appealing process while I was in the UK (during that time I received the acknowledgement letter in 1 month).

thnk u dear.... also batley khan is right in saying that people hardly recv their ack letters... so need not worry abt it... as the appeal process has changed a little bit wid fees introduced and applying online, may b they r trying to streamline their process which might take some time for them to b back on track...

so therez a possibilty they wont even tell us what deadline the ECM has been given to review the decision:s
