Is it a really advisable thing to do?
Anna, I don't think it is generally advised to do so. I mentioned this is because they mishandled my first application and my second ongoing seems only one payment withdrawn. And there is no much way you can really communicate with them. That's why I thought so.

Thank you, Nina!! I guess, I will just wait now and will try to contact them if the delay is too long.
Hope your second application will turn out better

Congrats to those who got their long awaited RC's!

Hello everyone,

Did anyone receive any customer survey BEFORE getting the RC? We have just received this one, and in the instructions they say you should only answer if you have received the decision in the last 3 months. This is really strange. We applied on 21/02, so just a few days away from the 6 months. We are really worried that it was lost by royal mail. We dont have the tracking number and they dont give any information about it, even when we mentioned this email. We are really worried now....

Hi Fernando,
I was about to ask the exact same question, I just got an invitation for a survey from UKVI Customer Supoort about an hour ago but no RC yet.... We applied for EEA QP and FM on 3rd of March so around one week after you.

Hey fernandopeleias! We're on the same boat! We sent our application EEA(QP) & (FM) on 24th of Feb, COA dated 2nd of March. My wife and I are thinking of calling them on friday but seems like it's not a good idea. We're also moving address early next month hopefully we don't need to wait that long or else we would need to update address for the 2nd time :? . I think we should make our letters ready to our MP's because 6 months is nearly over and get in touch with SOLVIT. Best of LUCK and keep in touch..

Hi Zedy, any news about your case? Did you manage to call them?
We decided to call them next monday 24th as it will be exactly 6 months on that day. We don't want them to give us the excuse of "6 months is not over yet". I didn't receive any survey..

Hello everyone!

Has anyone requested passports/documents back recently?
I was wondering how long they are taking to send documents back (if more or less than the promised 10 working days)

Thanks!

Finally I received my Biometrics letter.

It has been so frustrating for me with biometrics letter. After waiting for 10 working days, I did not receive it. When I called the officers, they were saying that it can take up to 8 weeks, and there is nothing I can do. I sent 4 emails to eurobiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. I received no reply from them. I finally decided to write to public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk which is just their genernal contact email. They have forwarded my email to correct department (FINALLY) and they replied me today saying that my biometrics letter has been sent on 28th July which I did not receive. They re-issued a new one yesterday (17th August) and I received it today (18th August).
This was such a long wait for just this simple letter.

Here's my updated timeline

Application Sent: 20/07/2015
Payment Withdrawn: 23/072015
Biometrics letter received: 18/082015
Biometrics Submitted: 18/08/2015
COA: ?
RC: ?

Hopefully it wouldn't take so long anymore...

We did. It took 5 working days. Requested on 24/07, arrived on 30/07.
We've provided 2 prepaid envelopes with our application, one of which was smaller, so we thought it would be quite obvious that it was for the passports, however they chose not to use it, and sent it 2nd class instead...

I hope we get it soon too...! Hopefully :(

I have a quick question. Is it ok to request for passports back before I get COA? Anyone with similar experience? If I do so, will it affect the decision or time taken to process the case?

What is the survey about? Maybe they are checking if the service they provide meets our expectations?

I did it in my first app on July. It took a week or so. Apply through online form, they respond quickly.
