Congrats for you visa.

Tier 1 General extension

Post by gdesai786 » Sat Sep 05, 2009 3:44 pm

Hi all,

I got my Tier 1 General visa in March 2009 with old rules and my Bachelors degree.

I need to know that when I file for an extension in March 2012, do I need to have Masters Degree as per new rules + earnings (12 months earnings).

Since I have only Bachelors degree and I don't think so I will be doing Masters by that time due to financial constraints. Am I eligible for extension with following:
1. Bachelors education
2. earnings for past 12 months out of 15 months
3. I will not get any points for age 30 or 31 as I will be 31+ by that time.

Need your guidance/advice.

Thanks in advance.

1. Bachelors education
Yes, if your initial HSMP/Tier-1 application was approved with a Bachelor's degree, then so will the extension.

2. earnings for past 12 months out of 15 months
Yes, this is fine

3. I will not get any points for age 30 or 31 as I will be 31+ by that time.
For extensions, the following will apply:
- Under 30 years of age = 20 points
- 30 or 31 years of age = 10 points
- 32 or 33 years of age = 5 points

Re: HSMP visa extension - any consecutive 12 month period

Post by maximux79 » Mon Sep 07, 2009 3:12 pm

As per the policy document, its rules that you it should be consecutive 12 months of any past 15 months...If the case worker goes by rules, you would loose points...but, if you haven't got any other options, then you can give it a try...if possible try other options....

Cheers
sastha wrote:Hello everyone, I hold a HSMP visa issued in March 2008. I entered UK in April 2008 and got into a job in December 2008. My role was made redundant since June and i have been looking out for jobs. I can see myself being picked up soon in October 2009. The clarification i seek to make is that of HSMP extension.

my hsmp visa expires in March 2010. I understand that under the extension rules, one has to show any consecutive 12 month period. In that case , assuming i show from Feb 2008 to Jan 2010, my earning points do not make me eligible for the extension. The only way i see is to break my earning into 1. From Dec 08 to May 09 and Oct to Jan 2010.

The earning potential needs to be shown for any consecutive 12 months out of the 15months immediately prior to appyling for extension. As i mentioned earlier, i have to break up my earnings from Dec 2008 to May 2009 and Oct 2009 to Feb 2010 because i can claim points based on my earning potential only if i show it this way. I comprehend this period is within 15 months but not consequtive 12 months. Will this pose a problem or can i explain the situation in the cover letter while applying for extension as i was between jobs from June to Sep 2010?

Any assistance in this regard would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi All, Quick question
My bank statement consists two entries every month from my company. 1) salary(Exactly same as payslip) 2) expenses ( I am a consultant, there may be expenses for travelling and food, I can claim, end of everymonth those are deposited).

I am not claiming any points for expenses. Shall I need to mention anything about those entries in my covering letter?

I am just thinking, What caseworker will think by seeing those two entries every month in bankstatement?

I hope claiming expenses is commong thing. Can Senior people suggest me what shall I do? What you did if it applies to you?

Thanks in advance
Nida

no, my payslip consists only salary, not expenses.
Because expenses are what I already spend from my pocket.

Thanks

need help to send more documents to home office

Post by nitzlondon » Fri Sep 11, 2009 11:45 am

Hi gurus ,

My salary slip genrate every mid month and salary transfered at the end of month.I have claimed 12 months period from 15 aug 08- 14 aug 09 becuase my salary slip genration but salary transferd is on 30th aug 09 and i want to include 30th aug salary in claiming period.

I have already sent my application to HO but think to send ammended cover letter stating that my claiming periood is 01-sep -08 - 31-aug -09 instead of 15 aug 08- 14 aug 09 because money xfer in bank is considered.

Please let me know :
1- how to send ammended cover letter ?
2- Is it allright to say about claiming period?

Thanks

You can not send any documents once you submitted your application. This is mentioned clearly in reference letter which you recieve from home office.

I can not see any problem about your claiming. They will simply compare your payslip with bankstatement.

All the best

Nitin.. such queries shd be posted in separate thread for the attention n quick response.. if not it will be lost in the mob..

i think you shd be fine though the way you mention 15aug08-15aug09 gives an impression as 13months but since u send payslips of Sep08-Aug09.. it shd be fine.. the caseworker will understand it.. though the reference letter says dont send any docs.. if u want to buy some sleep u can fax ur modified cover letter to HO as ur case is 6weeks away to be considered.. pls mention ur reference no on ur cover letter.. goodluck
