calculating continuous period in UK- Am I qualified for ILR

Post by mk.elysian » Mon Apr 16, 2012 12:18 pm

Hi,
My first Visa (HSMP) stamp date is 20 Mar 2008 (in India) and Date of Entry in UK is 7th May 2008. I have got extension (Tier 1 General) in 2010 till 31 Mar 2013. Can someone please advise me whether I am qualified to apply for ILR in Feb 2013. And I am away for a total of 150 days (including Date of Stamp and Date of entry gap & not more than 90 days in a single strech).

Thanks a ton,
MK

You are eligible for ILR 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your HSMP entry clearance (as long as you entered UK within 90 days of getting EC).

On what date you got HSMP ?

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.

I got stamped HSMP on 20th Mar 2008 valid until 20th Mar 2010. I entered in UK on 7th May 2008 (48 days after I got HSMP stamp). Then went for extension, got stamped Tier 1 General on 31st Mar 2010 valid until 31 Mar 2013.

Thanks,
MK

mk.elysian: you will be eligible to apply for ILR on or after Wednesday, 20 February 2013.

Also make sure you don’t go out of UK more than 180 days in total in 5 years and no single trip should be over 90 days.
