COS Number while still waiting for Docs

Cos number was checked today if status has changed to USED, but she said it was EXPIRED....How do we know when it is used ????

Hi Pespes

When a sponsor assigns a CoS they are given an expiry date for it (normally 3 months from the date of assignment). The CoS must be "used" by this date otherwise it expires.

i applied feb 21 and did bio 14th march, cos expired i think april 12th or so..
so just still waiting for docs and brp to be sent ...

But we called UKBA and they said they'll change to USED when app is considered....

Since you made an application before the COS expired I think you got nothing to worry about. I think the COS expiry is triggered by the system automatically. But still you never know with UKBA. Get your employer to email them just to make sure.
