Spouse/child visa submitted from Zambia

Dear all,

We have finally submitted our visas today. Spouse visa for me and dependant visa for my child. Here is a quick run through of what we submitted. Please anyone to advise if this list seems ok for the visas of both me and my child? And also did I need to include the father to my childs passport? Is there anything I missed out? We also submitted husbands savings statement for his shares (but it was only a photocpy) that we submitted....how long should we wait to get results?

Spouse Visa (sponsor)
1. Sponsors bank statements
2. Sponsors pay slips
3. Sponsor passport Bio Page
4. Sponsor birth certificate
5. Sponsor Letter of introduction
6. Mortgage statements
9. Land registry documents
10. pics during my visits to him and his visits to me

Applicant

Dependant (child) visa application documents
1. Consent letter by ther childs father (nortarized) original and copy
2. Letter of introduction by the childs father (explaining why he has consented)
4. My payslips and sponsors pay slips (the step father)
5. Official Land registry (copy)
6. Child with step father pictures
8. Letter of introduction by me the mother
9. Childs birth certificate (original and copy)
10. Mortgage statements (copies)
11. Step fathers bank statements and mine
12. Letter from my employers stating that she is on my medical scheme because am her guardian

Anyone to give advise/guideline? Please post your experiences, those that applied with children outside the UK for dependant visas

it is always difficult to comment on a person's list of documents in isolation no knowing anything about the circumstances of the case. You have submitted bank statements and payslips but without knowing what these show it is impossible to say whether these will be satisfactory. Also given that you have already submitted your application, it's not much help to you now.

From looking at your documents, you make no mention of having taken an English language test or providing a degree taught in English. Are you a national of a majority English language speaking country?

Regarding your child, you mention that you have a letter of consent from the child's father, but what you need to show is that you have, and have had, sole responsibility for the child's upbringing - have you? A letter from the child's father consenting to the child leaving the country is unliikely to be sufficient.

we finally got feedback on our visas. Mine was issued but my daughters was refused.
The refusal says that......I am not satisfied that your mother has sole responsibility for your upbringing. You have submitted a consent form and a consent
letter from your biological father, the fact that your father has gone to the lengths of producing consent letters indicate to me that he takes interest in dealings of your upbringing. I note that the letters
of consent state that your father see's you from time to time, which further indicates contact between you and your father. I note from your application form that you receive a monthly income from your
father to support your school and groceries needs. As a result, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirement of paragraph 297(i)(e) of the UK immigration Rules HC395' So that is their decision.


Biggest question, How do I prove 'Sole Responsibility? And what is best and quicker, re apply or appeal?
Am disabled now. Please guide me. What steps can I take next and what kind of
evidence should I submit to prove sole responsibility? How can I
defend the above decision they gave us? I have the right to appeal,
but what i was thinking is to re submit because appealing am told
really takes long. Please advise. We wil greatly appreciate. Thanking
you in advance.

A "consent" letter from child's father may be detrimental to showing sole responsibility.

Just reading this, because I have a similiar application.
Out of interest, how did you prove 'sole responsibility' to your daughter ??
