Tier 1 extension

I submitted my tier 1 extension application on 4th April and royal mail confirmed delivery. But the money has NOT been deducted and I haven't received a confirmation letter or bio metric letter. Even the bank has said HO has made no attempt to get the payment. The HO helpline people are not being very helpful asking me to wait but I am getting worried... Do you know what can I do.
