Experience Letter Problem - Need urgent help pls

Dear Friends,

I am in a small trouble. I spoke with my HR for an experience letter, they told me that cannot give a letter with word, "this position requires a Full-Time University Degree". However other things like Roles & Responsibilities and Job Type (Full-Time) etc, they are ready to mention on the letter.

Can any one pls suggest me if it is worth to go ahead and apply for HSMP with such letter...

They cannot give as they are saying that it would be "against the policy and ethics", however they do not follow ethics when they send our Resume to clients and tell us to do changes which we should not..

Also they are saying that so many people are on the same designation and do not have full time degree (they have Diploma or Part Time), so it is not the fact.. However when they poblish ads for the similar profiles, they mention Qualification required as B.E., B.Tech etc..

Anyways, the Responsibilities are below:

1. Involved in implementation of Security Operation Centre (SOC) using ArcSight™ Enterprise Security Management (ESM) Tool.
2. Involved in set up of SOC for customers, including Demo Set up, writing Rules, Creating Filters, Creating Information Security specific Reports, Administration of ArcSight™ ESM Tool.
3. Installation of various ArcSight components i.e. Manager, Database, Agents and Console on Sun Solaris V440 Server and Linux Operating System.
4. Gained exposure in Cisco Management Center and Cisco Security Agent for a project.
5. Participation in various the Seminars, Trainings and Work shops, organized by Wipro Technologies on Network Security and related areas.
6. Coordinate with other competencies to resolve and close the issues related with IT Security.

I'll simply say that:

"This job profile is a specialist postion and requires thorough knowledge and experience of Networking and Information Security, that can be gained through some Higher Qualification such as MSc in Computing.

Providing Information Security soclutions to the customer is a big task as their whole IT Infrastructure Security depends on these kind of services, which is very essential and vital for organization's goals and targets, thus they require a person with some higher qualification and who can understand the value and importance of business."

Hi AkashS,
I too faced the same situation.....so I took the printouts of the adverts which my company published for my role and submitted along with the HSMP application...that solved my problem..

I am planning to do the same.. May be, I'll bring News Paper ads with me for similar positions.. Will it be fine..

Also pls suggest me if we cud mention like "We confirm that the role of Specialist normally requires a Full-time University degree" (I am not sure if they will be agree for this also or not)

The above format should be fine....Try this ....or else the paper cuttings should suffice...

I doubt... In fact I am afriad that they will be ready to mention Full-Time Job also....

root I didn't mean the 2 -3 yr old ones...I meant the new ones...

Let me put it this way...Suppose say you are in some Sr.Soft Eng position and work for some XYZ company....Now when there is a requirement in this XYZ company for this Sr.Soft Eng position...they would advertise saying that there is a opening for this position which requires this degree and this skills....

Take that and attach with the HSMP application...

Noooo....YOUR POSITION in YOUR COMPANY....
this will help clarify that your position needs a graduate level degree...

Hi Akash
Of course it is better if youe get your experience letter clearly mention 'A graduate level position, but if you could not you coul consdier the follwoing:

- Showing nes paper ads, website the same position in the UK ?
- Where are you working, in the UK ?. If you are working in the UK the will also consider it based on your payment level. If you work 'permanently' and get over 30K it will significantly help your case

hi Pantieama,
I have similar issue where my current company can give me only a letter with length of service in the company and current designation. They are not ready to give the duties and responsibilities in the letter.

Can I do these things...

1. We have recruitment website open to anybody who wishes to join the company. In that site I found few jobs for my position. I want to take print outs of these job advts which give detailed duties and responsibilities and qualification required for the job. Then I can query up my company global online employee information which shows by position,designation, my location,contact details, immediate manager and HR MANAGER name and contact details on it. I can also get an org chart showing my level in the org below CEO. Can I use these printed documents to link my position and genuity?
I can also attach original offer letter as secondary evidence. Anyway, I will be using my last 12 month payslips in past earnings section.

Please its very urgent and I would like to apply this weekend. Is that OK?

I alsow ant to confirm th same, can we take print out of the sinmilar openings in our company? Will they consider Print outs.. I can also try to get news papers for the similar position..

One more thing, u know it IT field, they do not define Designation, and based of your experience and current requirement, they provide you Designation....

In these cases, what can be done... Can anyone pls reply with required things in these cases...

Dear sssm

You need to realise that a lot of good work experience letter is rejected not because it is not detail but because of X factor.

Expalin to them and show evidence from the same position in the Job search site, news paper, etc. Also level of payment is very important to justify the work you are doing. If you are doing students job, low skille jobs it is almost imposible that you will be paid 30K.
Please note that I am not saying that it will work but at least it will help your case move further.

If you can not get a very detail work experience letter there is nothing you could do. This is typical if you are working in the hight street company, they just give you standard letter, nothing more. But tcaseworker will consider it because they know that they will easily verify your work experience letter and they are ealing with highly respected institution.

The company I work for a world renowed software development organization and I am in core product development team in its India Development Center. No worries on company reputation. Lot of guys will be dreaming to work in this company.

Yes. I am working there for close to 4 years and I will be using its earnings in last 12 month pay..in past earnings section. The reason I was wary to use this exp in wrk experience section is because I cannot get a reference letter detailing my roles and respnsibilities.

If it is ok, I will provide the printouts with job level shwing my HR Manager, Manager contacts too, responsibilities, organization hierarchy upto CEO..is it fine to use it in work experience section?

What questions do home office ask to prove my presence in my company? Will they that I have applied for immigration and things like that?

Dear sssm

I have been reading this forum for a fews years now. Sometimes I have seen the work experience letter which is so unbelieve that the people could get it sometimes it looks like "TO GOOD TO BE TRUE" but of course we do not know about this. (Search in this forum you will see that quite reasonable number of work experience letter cannot be verified, in the past).

Or it is probably the personnel manager is their friends.

So they could ask them to write whatever they want.

If you want to see why work experience letter get rejeted, see the follwoing discussions:

You will draw conclusion that some work experience letter not because not too details but because of 'X' factor.

See the previous posting you will find that some work expereince letter is not very details. But it get approved. So do not worry that your experience letter is not too details. The most important thing is to prove your involvements on the Job and to gain their trust.

If the high street company give you work reference letter, and you back your claim with other eveidence I will not worry too much even it is not too details, they could find it out in the verification process.
