handling fee to post office (biometric letter)

Post by friday » Thu May 03, 2012 10:36 am

Hi All,

Today I received the biometric letter for Tier 1 extension.

It asks me to go to the post office without appointment. But it says each person will be charged for additional handling fee of £19.20 payable to Post Office Ltd.

Is this normal?

Thank you in advance.

It is clear now. So this is normal.

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

I have a PEO nearby.
So can I enroll my biometrics at PEO instead of PO?
I checked that appointments are available at this PEO.

I hope this is not mandatory to go to PO only for biometrics.

Does your letter give you an option to go to a PEO? I thought from March 2012, post offices are the only option to register biometrics.

No. The letter gives details only about procedure to get biometrics from the post office. I think they want to ease congestion at PEO. Plus for convenience.
