Business Analyst jobs on HSMP?

Post by tramp » Fri Sep 22, 2006 12:28 pm

Friends:

Am I glad I found this forum! I currently work as a Product Delivery Manager with a small Independant Software Vendor in India and am planning to take the HSMP route. Could someone tell me what the chances are, for a person with 10 years of IT experience, of finding suitable employment either as a Product Manager or a Business Analyst in the UK? Is hoping for such a job realistic, given that I do not have prior UK experience? Any inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Srini

Hi Tramp,

The ideal place to find this out is on the jobsites. You could try:-
http://www.totaljobs.co.uk
http://www.jobserve.com
http://www.reed.co.uk
http://www.monster.co.uk

Prince2 or PMP?

Post by tramp » Thu Oct 05, 2006 7:05 am

Thanks for those websites, they really were pointers in the right direction. While browsing the jobs on the sites listed here I noticed that most PM positions were asking for the Prince2 certification. Does anyone know how popular this certification is in the UK and if it really would add value? Also, here is a paper that compares Prince2 with PMBOK- I found it useful:

http://www.pmforum.org/library/papers/2 ... papers.htm

It would be good if members could share their views and experiences regarding the Prince2 certification.

PRINCE2 is much sought after in the UK. But noone outside the UK knows about it. You are probably better off taking PMI in addition to PRINCE2 since PMI is recognised internationally.
