VISA Extension via PEO - Earliest date to apply

My Visa expires during the first week of September 2012.

When will be the earliest date i can apply via PEO so that i will get my VISA stamped with the new VISA start date as the next date of visa expiry from my previous visa...

If it is confusing, then consider this - if my visa expires on 1st September 2012, then When will be the earliest date i can apply via PEO so that i will get my VISA stamped with the new visa start date as 2nd September 2012 and end date as 1st September 2015 ?

NOTE : THE REASON FOR THIS QUESTION IS THAT I DONT WANT TO HAVE MY NEW VISA'S START DATE AS THE DATE ON WHICH I APPLY OR THEY APPROVE.
Though iam planning to have an appointment in the first week of August, Just want to be sure with details, before i book an appointment.

There is no sure answer to this my friend. It solely depends on the caseworker. I have read lots of PEO experiences on this forum and my conclusion is most of them have got their dates extended from their visa expiry. But there are some unfortunate soles who have got extension from their PEO appointment date, even when they have applied within a month of their visa expiry. So my thought on the topic is, make sure you politely request your caseworker to extend your visa when you go for your PEO appointment and then Pray I guess.

If you apply earlier than 28 days then there is a chance of extension from the date you apply.

But if you apply within or less than 28 days of your existing VISA expiry, then CW has to grant you leave from the date of expiry of extant visa.

If by any chance CW decides against this, then you have all the legal stuff to prove and get it over turned.
So ideally apply after 5th August and get the extension from 1st Sept subject to the condition that your application is approved on the same day.

What do you mean by legal stuff. Where can I find this details. Do you know any cases here or anywhere in which someone has done this. Please share it to us. This would be a brilliant information.

The interpretation of the above is that they will give you leave from the expiry of extant leave if you apply within 1 month of expiry.

If i am not wrong, the system does the date allocation for extensions. probably 28 days (or may be 2 months - some people have got visa from the date of expiry even if they applied 2 months before too).
But the below web page indirectly says applying prior to 28 days.
