FLR (IED) applications - service standards

Post by geriatrix » Thu Sep 28, 2006 2:59 pm

26 September 2006

We have recently received an increase in FLR (IED) applications, which has temporarily had an impact on our ability to clear 70% of such cases within our 20 working day service standard.

We are taking steps to rectify the situation and have deployed additional resources to increase our caseworking capacity. The current position is that applications may take up to 35-40 working days, although we will endeavour to clear applications with all relevant information within our 20 working day service standard. Regrettably, this may not be possible in all cases and we appreciate your patience during this temporary lull in service.

During this period we strongly recommend that you do not make any travel arrangements whilst your application is going through the FLR (IED) process.

We are still providing an urgent treatment facility for customers, but given the above position we are not able to guarantee that all such requests will be serviced.

Updated information will be posted on this site on a regular basis.
