Driving job with travel document

Post by mpc » Sat May 19, 2012 8:53 pm

Hello Everyone !

I have Irish travel document for stateless person and I am truck driver.
My question, do I need to get UK visa to deliver goods to UK and collect backhaul to Ireland?

If yes, where do I start to apply?

Many Thanks !
Mark

Yes, you do require a Visa for the UK............holding an Irish Travel Document does not mean that you are exempt from Immigration procedures within the Common Travel Area because, ultimately you are Non-Eu Citizen.

The British Embassy is where you need to apply.

Further, you would need permission from the UK authorities (by way of a work permit) to engage in economic activity in the UK.

It is required, since you'd be working in the UK. Where the company is registered is irrelevant.
