Non Eu Parent of EU Citizen child in Ireland

Hi all,
I am a non eu citizen living in Ireland with my 4 years old son who is an Eu citizen but not Irish citizen.
I am the sole primary carer for my son as mother had left this country.
Is there any chance that i can get a residence permit as a single parent and sole primary carer of eu citizen child in Ireland?
My son is going to start primary education in september 2012, he is residing with me in Ireland.
