Landed Immigrant Status Expiration

Does anyone know if Canadian landed immigrant status ever expires? I was a landed immigrant when I lived in Canada with my family. We returned to the United States several years ago. Am I still able to live and work in Canada?

You must accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period.You may lose your permanent resident status if you fail to comply with your residency obligations.
