Address query in tier-1 dependent application

Post by neha_s » Mon Jun 18, 2012 11:18 am

Hi

I m getting married in the last week of june in India and planning on applying as a Tier-1 General dependent (of my husband who is currently in the UK) in the first week of July. I had a few questions on some of the fields in the online application form

In the section where they ask about my address details, what permanent address do i have to fill in there. My passport shows my parents address where i was born.

But after marriage i will be living with my in-laws and hence that will be my permanent address. What address do i fill in the form?

If i fill my new address, what proof of address do i need to submit? I am planning on adding an affidavit in which i confirm that i now live at the new address. However my passport will still have my parent's address. Would that cause a problem in the application processing?

has someone else applied with this scenario?

I have following documents which i plan to submit

1. printed online application form
2. dependent - passport
3. marriage certificate
4. marriage invitation cards
5. wedding photos
6. reception photos
7. random pictures of my husband and i before marriage (we have known each other for long)
8. covering letter
9. main applicant - photocopy of all pages from his passport
10. main applicant - residence permit photocopy
11. main applicant - sponsorship letter
12. bank statements showing maintenence funds in my husband's account for the past 90 days
13. letter from employer confirming his employment in the UK
14. last 6 months payslips
15. affidavit from me (wife) confirming my new address

do i have to submit any appendix with the applicatio form? have i missed out on anything? is there any other document which i should be adding with the application

any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks a lot

neha

Only one -

Address - If you'll live at your in-laws after marriage and before you apply for EC, then mention that address. There is no requirement of "address proof".

Still you can use your address or you can use your In-law address for that you no need to submit proof of address.

My wife used my address when she apply in india this jan..

Ok. so u reckon i can apply with my passport (which has my parent's address) and give my address as my in-laws and that should not be any problem, and i dont need to give any proof of address for the new address? Did your wife do the same. I am just a bit afraid. Also do u think the documents in the main question are enough, did i miss anything?

thanks for your reply

Hi Neha

yeah thats more than enough.. when we applied my wife used her home address only...

Your documents are fine.. you no need to put all pages from your husband passport ( Need only front back and visa copy will be fine)...

Dont be afraid you will get visa soon....

Good luck

sorry i was just reading this again, and thought of confirming this with you.
which address did ur wife use? the one on her passport which presumably was her parents address or ur address where she started living after marriage..? and this address, which i will be using should it be used in permanent address or contact address?

i just want to confirm i understood u right (and i think i thanked you a bit too soon)

also do i not have to submit an appendix with the online application form?

Just for clarification - the address on the passport has no relevance to or bearing on the application.
