Switching from Post study to Tier 1 General

Post by Riyadhian » Sat Jun 23, 2012 10:27 am

Hi Guys,

I am currently on PSW visa working in Jaguar for past 12 months. I am confused if I can switch to Tier 1 (General) or not?
What I am confused about are 2 main things on UKBA webpage:
1. Can I switch from PSW to Tier 1 General at all?
2. If I do qualify, then what category? i.e. 100 points or 95 points requirement?

Quick answer woud really help.

Thanks.

Tier 1 (General) immigration category is closed to new applicants ... for good.

You may still be eligible to apply for Tier 1 General but you must need to show that your yearly gross income is equal to or more than £150,000.

Good Luck

Where is this suggested?

Thanks Guys. I am seeing a solicitor during this week over this, the wording is actually very confusing on UKBA policy guidance on Tier 1 (General). Though I tend to agree with sushdmehta.

Thanks

The category is closed. The only categories of leave that permit extension or transition into Tier 1 are:

Tier 1 (General)
Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
Self-employed lawyer
Writer, composer or artist

There, I've just saved you the bus fare to the lawyer's office.

Consider looking at Tier 2

Thanks,

This really helps. Guess I will have to move to Tier 2 (General) then. It would've been good to be free from Employer's dependance though, but hey, thats not the end of the world :)
