Passport expiry 29 apr2013.. Tier 1 ext due on 17sep.2012

Hi... My new ext wud be from 2012to 2014 and my passport wil nt be valid till 2014. Should I gt a new passport now? Or should I get new passport after extension before applying ILr.?

You donot need to renew your passport for your extension. The extended visa doesnt come as a sticker (Vignette) on your passport but as a biometric residence permit plastic card.

Cn I aply ILR on it.?

Looking at your id, I can figure out you are indian. If you are indian, you can renew your passport 1 year before its expiry. So its better to get new passport six months before expiry and apply with both the passports.

you must have a valid passport at the time of extension along with all previous passports on which LTR was granted

in most countries, passport can be renewed up to a year before expiry

the T1 guidance doesnt say anything about minimum validity period of the passport at the time of application but IMHO if your passport will be expiring in 6 months or less before applying for LTR/ILR then renew it
