soc code and nqf level please

I work as a Research Assistant in one of the uk research councils. I get paid 21098£per annum working at 37hrs /week. I am on psw visa expiring on dec2012. My employer has the right to sponser. I have some queries regarding this post. Would it be possible to give some information on:

1. will this post and pay enough to get an extension depending on soc codes and nqf level.
2. Whats' the soc code for this post. I came across in the soc codes as 2329 but it mentions as research assistant(university). but i work for research centre. Do i belong to same soc code as mentioned or anything else...
