I am in the UK on Tier 2 General visa and hope to get some information on the following matter:
Am I allowed to buy a company in the UK and be the owner of the company being i the UK on Tier 2 General visa?
Please note that my desire to buy a company is not connected to my present activity and will not affect my ability to work for my current sponsor - I will fulfill all existing criteria for Tier 2 visa holder.
I consider it as a possible investment - to buy a company (or pub, or shares on stock market) in order to receive interests/dividends (and at the same time continuing to work on my present certified work place).
I have found the following information about self-imployment for Tier 2 general visa holders on http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk website - "You are not allowed to enter self-employment, set up a business or join another business as a director or partner without obtaining further permission from us."
Could you help me to clarify the situation.
Will I breach UKBA rules, if I buy some business being in the UK on Tier 2 General visa?
Thank you.
Viktoriya.
