Postal Application Validity

Hi,

I have applied my application via post and my employer is requesting for a document which says that I am eligible to work in UK, till i hear the decision from Home Office. Is there a document/note in the UKBA where it says the applicant can stay in UK with the last status of the application form posted to UKBA until the decision comes back. If there is a document can you please send me the Link.
