Work Experience letter missing

Post by tibs » Mon Jul 05, 2004 10:10 am

Hi,

I aim to claim 35 points in the work experience category ( Min. 5 years graduate experience with specialist/senior role for 2 years). This is an incountry application (I have been on work permit with different employers since Dec. 2000)

In total I have generic experience letters for more than 8 years (incl. the senior/specialist role). However, I do not (and cannot) have experience letter/ pay slip... from one of my UK employers with whom I was only for about a couple of months.

Please could anyone let me know the impact of the above on my HSMP application.

Thanks in advance

tibs,
If you are able to show the 2 yrs senior/specialist experience without the mentioned missing docs , then in my opinion it would not impact your application. As your experience is 8 yrs, even without these docs they should give you the claimed 35 points provided you are able to give fool proof documentation on the rest of your experience.

its only 2 months. You can show it as blank period. It should not effect your points.

Many Thanks for your replies.

However, I guess I underplayed the fact that the work experience letters that I have are very generic. All it says are - dates of joining/ leaving and the designation (job title). They do not go into any detail to describe my roles & responsibilities. Is this ok ?

To prove the specialist/ senior side, I have a letter which one of my employer had written to the US embassy for a US visit visa stating in details my role/ specialism etc etc. I intend to use this to prove the specialist/ senior role.

Thanks again.

Hi tibs,
HSMP is very particular about your roles & job responsibilities. I guess forget about 35 points. Even to get 25 points , you have to show reference letters from most of your former /present employers. Simple Join/relieve letter won't work. Also Invitaion letter that you are talking about getting US visa is good for nothing. This , I am talking from my own exprince. I try to apply last year but fail with same set of things that u r talking. Now I am applying again. Hoping for the best this time.

I also submitted all my companies details - some without the letter headed paper as requested and a was recently requested by HSMP to provide it on letterheaded paper and signed by authorised person.

Now - based on my calculation I can prove 9 years and 10 months of senior experience with a paper trail. A shortfall of 2 months...

Question: Does the HSMP Officer have discretionary decision making powers to allow for 50 points (based on the shortfall) or is s/he forced to go 35 points?

Guys,
Never take chance when you are claiming points in Senior/Specialist role.
Check my previous case history. Even I qualified without considering my experience points they asked me for additional information. Because, my current experience letter doesn't have the responsibilities in detail(out of three letters).

So, as Simir mentioned Experience letters must be in detail. The letter I got from home offie asking for additional info clearly says about it. Check this link..

.
All the best.

Puti - the question remains will 9 years and 10 months suffice for 10 years of experience or is it a NO NO?? :?

Jay,
Is 9 years 10 months from the First day of your first job or you calculated only your employed time.

I don't think they mind if you have very short gaps in between employments. But they may check overall the dates.

Sorry, even I am not sure whether the HSMP team assign 50 points or 35 points.

Regards
Puti
